There are many topics that could fall under this thread, but I'll start with a headline from Friday:
Well, here's the result of the spinelessness of the NFL, combined with the championing of Kaepernick's cause by ESPN and the rest of the sports press, both of which have become so utterly P.C. it's hard to listen to at times. What did Laura Ingraham say, "Shut Up and Dribble"?
Is Colin Kaepernick the Barack Obama of the NFL? The parallels between the two are interesting:
Colin Kaepernick Reaches Deal With The NFL To Settle Collusion Allegations
Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and the NFL have reached an agreement to settle his allegations that league teams colluded to deny him a contract after his controversial protests in which he took a knee during the national anthem.
The league has also reached a deal with Carolina Panthers safety Eric Reid over similar collusion allegations.
A lawyer for Kaepernick, Mark Geragos, tweeted that after discussions, the "parties have decided to resolve their pending grievances." The NFL issued an identical statement.
Details of the agreement are not public. But, as The Associated Press notes, "Considering the lost salary both players claimed and legal costs, the settlement could have climbed into the tens of millions."
"The resolution of this matter is subject to a confidentiality agreement so there will be no further comment by any party," the statement said.

Is Colin Kaepernick the Barack Obama of the NFL? The parallels between the two are interesting:
- both rose quickly on the national stage, from near obscurity to stunning successes
- both are bi-racial and almost entirely raised by whites (Obama largely by his grandparents and Kaepernick by his adoptive parents)
- yet both ultimately took the path of demonizing the police and hyping white racism, despite being examples of how there is no barrier to fame and fortune in modern America if you have talent and a hard work ethic. Their very success undermines their arguments about pervasive social injustice.
- In the end, both leave the stage with massive unfulfilled "potential"...and with massive bank accounts.
