Let's put General Flynn's supposed "lie" and the fallout in layman's terms: Your family has been accused of running an elaborate ponzi scheme through their financial services company, XYZ Investments. As the CFO you know for a fact that these allegations are untrue. An FBI agent--who it is later discovered hates your family--interviews you.
FBI: Has your firm paid all its investors as promised?
YOU: Of course we have.
An audit later shows that the firm in fact paid one investor--in full--three days late.
Headline: "CFO Lies to FBI about XYZ financial records."
You are fired and your family's company loses all its investors.

"Well why would Flynn plead guilty if he didn't lie?"
This other aspect of the Flynn case is one that most people should be able to easily understand: If I had been bankrupted by legal fees and my only realistic choice was between agreeing to a guilty plea for something I didn't do in exchange for my son avoiding ruinous prosecution for equally dubious charges, I'd take that plea any day of the week. Any decent father would do the same.

Whoever in the Obama administration leaked details of Flynn's call with Kislyak to the WaPo's David Ignatius in January 2017 committed a felony. Hopefully that crime will at long last be prosecuted.

I would love to see Obama investigated and found guilty for his part in this. However, I don't want him to go to jail, I want to see him have to pick up trash by the freeway for a week as part of community service. In an orange jumpsuit. With leg shackles.
It would probably lead to civil war, but it just might be worth it.

America doesn't go after former Presidents (even Nixon was pardoned) like some third world country (or Illinois) and we're not going to go down that road. At best we can hope that any of his administration's officials who committed crimes are prosecuted and/or in some way officially condemned and that Obama's lasting legacy will make Nixon's "enemies list" look like child's play. #ObamaGate was trending #1 on Twitter today...until Twitter removed it. Sorry, not sorry--they can't stop the revelations that are coming.

Is #ObamaPerpWalk trending? How about #LockHimUp. I understand what you are saying about Obama not being investigated or prosecuted based on our history of not doing that. However, if Trump is going to truly drain the swamp, would you not do things that have never been done before? Presidents have gotten more & more brazen over time, partially because they know they will never be held responsible for their actions. That is a 3rd world country, where those in power can break the law and never have to worry about facing justice. The image of Obama in an orange jumpsuit would scare the bejesus out of people like Adam Schiff, hopefully to the point that they never run for office. If we aren't going to arrest politicians for criminal acts, real true criminal acts (like what Nixon did), we can't complain that we keep ending up with crooked politicians. What is supposed to separate us from those 3rd world countries is that we follow the rule of law for all of society, not just certain segments. After all, Obama said today that his concern about releasing Flynn is that it would upset the rule of law. Lets alleviate his concerns by finding out exactly what Obama did and if it warrants him going on trial. The problem is I know that 80% of the country doesn't have the stomach for this, so it won't happen.

Once a president leaves office, I think their #1 concern, other than making a crapload of money, is their legacy and how they will be viewed by history. If it turns out Obama was neck deep in these shenanigans, the entire sordid truth should be told even if it's not in a court of law before a jury. His legacy and historical standing will be ruined, and that's better by far than picking up trash along the freeway.

To suggest that the Judge is not going to sign off on the dropped charges is simply asinine Sure...asinine. Judge Puts Hold on Move to Drop Flynn CaseThere is another stunning development in the case of President Donald Trump’s former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.
The federal judge overseeing the case has put the Justice Department's move to drop the criminal charges against Flynn on hold to give outside legal experts a chance to argue against the department’s decision.
Judge Emmet Sullivan said late Tuesday that “friends of the court” will be able to file briefs and that he will set up a time to hear those arguments “at the appropriate time.”
Sullivan could decide to call witnesses to testify and answer questions about the Justice Department’s extraordinary move last week to drop the charges against Flynn, and possibly reopen the entire case months before a presidential election.www.voanews.com/usa/us-politics/judge-puts-hold-move-drop-flynn-caseLike I said, perhaps the gloating was a bit premature. I guess Credo's expertise and clairvoyance only goes so far. Carry on.

Hiroo Onoda speaks!
Unfortunately, Judge Sullivan is part of the problem and is only delaying the inevitable. When the state drops charges against a person, then the case is effectively over, whether the judge likes it or not. The judiciary is only one branch of the government and cannot prosecute someone on their own authority. Also, the judge's acceptance of the guilty plea in the first place was problematic, since he never verified there was a factual basis for the crime, for the simple reason that the prosecutors have never to this day presented actual evidence of a crime by Michael Flynn. The transcript of the call with Kislyak has never been made available (even to the judge) nor have the original interview notes of Flynn's interview been made available to compare the two. And even if there was some sort of "misstatement," the DOJ has said there is nothing material in such because there was no underlying crime and no legitimate basis for the interview. Sorry folks, it's all over except for the crying and screaming by the police-state loving Left.
And, yes, it is asinine to suggest the judge will not sign off on the dismissal of the case. He's required to by law. Whether it's today, tomorrow, or two weeks from now--he has no choice. Whatever he's trying to accomplish with this delay is only going to backfire. Those who wish to see Michael Flynn go to jail to satisfy their TDS and it concomitant conspiracy theories are going to be disappointed....again.

The Judge confirms that justice in the DC court system is not equal justice. His politics is showing for all to see. How would indictments versus Comey, McCabe, Brennan, Strozk, Page play out in such a system?

How would indictments versus Comey, McCabe, Brennan, Strozk, Page play out in such a system? Yes. Remember, these are the same D.C. judges who are part of the FISA court that rubber-stamped the phony warrants on Carter Page that got the whole ball rolling in the first place. Be patient. The Swamp--which includes the judge in this case--is not going down without a fight.
