OK, guys, I've caved in to pressure from SK80's relentless whining that he be crowned regular season champion of our inaugural high school football pool. So let's hear it for King SK80! If we should ever meet in person I promise to do my best to crown him.
For the playoffs, I've decided to go with picking the winners against the spread. Just like in Vegas, you either give or take the points. Should make things very interesting and more difficult. In the games below, please NOTE: THE "AT" DESIGNATES THE HOST TEAM AND NOT NECESSARILY THE GAME VENUE.

When a Sea King wields his Triton the points are well taken...!  However it plain obvious you just wanted to catch up and not spot me......  I thought this is the way maybe we do the entire pool against the Calpreps spread. Something to consider, guess now we will give it a trial run here in the playoffs. If I may make one suggestion, one I have made in many a pool. So to have no ties/push games use a 1/2 point system. Round up or down 1/2 point, the formula I like best is the away team gets the 1/2 point, remember also Calpreps uses a "neutral" field projection. EXAMPLE: TUSTIN @ SUNNY HILLS (-10) becomes TUSTIN @ SUNNY HILLS (-10 1/2) Tustin the away picks up 1/2 point forcing the Home team to cover the extra 1/2 point. You can also do this for the away teams or the underdogs teams as in HSF the spread are very high. Now back to my victory celebration......  |

MDDad , taking my first look at the games ahead.... checking Calpreps I see the first game has possibly changed with updates usually on Tuesdays..... has SC favored by 19 not 20? EDIT UPDATE: Just checked the second game, its even further off from your spread unless you are taking them from somewhere else. OLU is now favored by 10 over Poly not 7. I think your spreads reflect how the previous week was calculated.

SK, my version of Calpreps still has Sierra Canyon by 20 and Orange Lutheran by 7. You must be using the Ukrainian version, Kyivpreps. If you prefer their spreads, that's the way you should bet.
