ya I'm kinda po'd. a playoff of this caliber should not be a team you had an common opponent with in which you blew that common opponent out and the common opponent blew out the team CIF is pitting you against. will CIF make any real explanation of any of this?

Let it go, SK80. I actually agree with you, but we can't control that. All CDM can do is attack whoever is lined up across the line of scrimmage from them.

Open - top 2 teams (should be MD / Bosco Part 3, but they'll settle for DLS) Bowl 1 - SS v. SD open champ & the next 2/3 up north. No Narbonne, so it's the #1 SD team v. D2 champ Bowl 1A - SS v. SD D1 champ - not much to figure out here. Winner plays the 4/5 winner from up North. Take heart SK80, next year you can play in the Open division

Take heart SK80, next year you can play in the Open division @pf it will be all good....., I have always had on the field respect for Serra of San Mateo should they win it up there. I almost can't help to think CIF wanted to slot CDM before the OPEN game on Saturday. Getting the 1AA game would have put us Friday. There is going to be MUCH more attention on saturday from TV to scouts to fans....... @bick not sure how the rolling averages work out, MDDad may be able to see that already. where ever we land their won't be any quit. will be interesting to see how the program plays it now taking in kids or not. For the record I prefer they do not. As an alum, fan I have no aspiration to be a D1 team. To do so you would likely have to change the model or M/O. MV does it, LH does it, LA does it and SC did it real good job of it this season basically handing CDM their title "One Town One Team". It's the "new era" and I don't have a crystal ball, the ever changing landscape of high school sport will dictate. I'll wait and see.

You stayed out of D1/2 last year because you had a year of being in the PCL artificially lowering your rating.
That year drops off in next year's calc, so you'll likely be in the top 8 to start the year... especially after you bring home that state hardware.
Damn... What a great year for you guys.

SK, Bick is correct. I envy you the high you are currently on, as it's not something a lot of fans get to experience. Unfortunately, my balloon burst on Saturday night.
Enjoy the current ride, but don't be misled by this year's success. Having watched Corona del Mar twice this year, and replaying every play of the Grace Brethren game in slow motion, I came away with an observation. Like most or all of the teams in D-3, CdM is a team of scrappy local high school kids. Their one overwhelming advantage is that they have three big-time college players on their offense, while the rest of their challengers in D-3 don't. The reality is that the school's success the past two years will move them up to D1/2 next year, exactly when that overwhelming advantage has graduated. After every fun party comes the next morning's hangover, and you should be prepared for when that comes.

After every fun party comes the next morning's hangover, and you should be prepared for when that comes. Bick is always correct outside his football picks...... Sis-Ba-Da-Boom! Envy appreciated because we all know darn well you have been on that mountain more than once. And for you when the bubble bursts it likely won't be long till you patch it and fill it with helium in due time. For most that never happens and times like these for me (CDM) are rare if ever. yet may I still remind you this is not such a flash in the pan. Come 2013 we won state in Division 3. All we got from most of you was spite and a brush off at small school ball. Well we are a small school. We annually have half of what most publics have. (Spare me the enrollment numbers don't equate diatribe). For years we ran the heck out of PCL. You all called us out on that daring CDM to get out. We did. You all called us out as a team that will hit reality in Sunset. Two years into Sunset it was 100% running clock against our foes. You all want to claim now thats due to 3 guys. And so you all feel better can't wait till D1 for CDM and a bunch of losses. What I am attempting to get at is non of this happened in a snap of finger. This process, this program is here to stay. We should have have a let down with a dominant senior class. I am all good with that. It's actually the only way I know as well as my school knows. Nothing new here. I enjoy the building, the suspense, the highs and the lows. Not worried in the slightest bit. Mostly because at CDM winning is the objective but its not everything. At Cerritos it was fun to observe the two best teams in the country. But to spend most of the night figuring out how we can recruit a QB to beat these guys next year (on both sides) was a hoot as an outsider. Because in all reality it about just two teams. Thats not the ebb and flow, high and low, so goes high school football I have known. On the warning of "mislead"..., thanks but I have been around this game a long time and there are no illusions. For someone whom claims CDM's challengers have no D1 players is false. Surprised you made that observation. Alemany and Grace have as many if not more. Alemany was loaded with "offer" kids, QB Alabama, RB Penn State, and they should be favorites in whatever division they get next year assuming QB Miller Moss stays. He will be one of a handful of guys whom will be targeted by teams such as yours MDDad. Maybe it's the General Booty or I hear some out of state kid? This is the way to stay relevant right? Can't let the party end and afford another year of hangover! In the mean time I hope I have had enough of a track record around the message board universe to be not known as a gloater! I understand there are but a few still standing and those no longer standing are not in the best of moods on how their respected seasons went or ended. If it makes you feel better to pick Oceanside this week by 3 I won't hold it against you! Frustration makes us do and think the silliest things!

You would think Kupp.... I mean Bick is MR. SUNSET LEAGUE and he has a team at #3 is state yet he is all sideways on it... and MDDad is just still mad because had Humphreys not walked on his signing papers day MD beats SJB with J Hump catching the winning TD!

Sideways? No.
Happy you guys won cif, and will likely win state? Hell yeah.
Think you should be ranked higher than a bunch of D1 teams when you only played 1 D2 team? I haven't had nearly enough old fashioneds to make that claim.

The games on Saturday will be televised on the Spectrum channel ("Lakers" channel on 691 Directv), correct?
And does that mean annoying Petros will be commentating?
