Looking at the photo, with his severe look, maybe Mark Zuckerberg is another good example of "absolute power corrupts absolutely".

Look at what it's done to both Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates. Ok, let's look. What has it done to Bill Gates? Let's see...he founded the world's largest charity...he led a vaccination campaign which eradicated polio in Africa...with Warren Buffet he founded a charity where billionaires pledge to give half their wealth to philanthropic causes. So what has he done to earn your contempt?

I'd agree with all, but the one about continuity seems to fly in the face of progress, and one of the reasons I probably considered myself a progressive for a while.

Progress is a positive thing or else we'd still be living in caves, and therefore being a real progressive is also good. The problem is that the term "progressive" has been mistakenly assigned to the new left. In fact, they are neither progressive nor liberal. What this new left believes and is trying to force on us is about as regressive and authoritarian as anything this country has seen in almost two centuries.

That one caught my eye. It can be a nebulous term. I looked it up:
Prudence:
I like it and it kind of reminds me of the book I am writing about Honor. So much of it can be pulled from the Bible though. It is about how we behave. We can't force others to behave a "certain" way, but we can lead by example.
Good post SK

You once identified as a "Progressive"? Pretty far cry or slide from side to side. To MDDad's point, progressivism has been hijacked. I always felt conservatives were somewhat pig-headed when it came to adherence to the status quo...yet another reason I've always been an Independent.
