My daughter's boyfriend took her and me to the Rams/Seattle game this Sunday. I hadn't been to the Coliseum for probably 30+ years and was pretty impressed with the changes. I've always liked that stadium.
However the clientele was a different story. I had a close encounter of the undesirable kind with the guy behind me, who seemed to be enjoying his first beer.
I don't ever remember that in the Coliseum. Does anyone know if it's a pretty rowdy crowd that goes there now, and are altercations a common occurrence?....................................Luca

You must have never gone to a Raiders game when they were there .. alcohol does strange things from what I hear.
I've been working as a onfield intern this year for the Rams and just got the gig next year also. I'm 40 years older than all the other "interns" so they made me supervisor. I coordinate bringing out the towels and, collect, and wash them after the game. I get to watch about 3 1/2 quarters before I start the big washers and watch the rest of the games on the CC TV. Usually hang out in the tunnel corner of the end zone. My HS crew chief holds the alternate down marker for Rams games.

I knew the Raiders’ fans could be obnoxious. I just didn’t expect it at a Ram/Seattle game.
I didn’t realize what a production these games are either. There’s a whole industry of people fixing snacks outside the stadium and giving people rides on three seater bicycles, selling all kinds of paraphernalia......... Before you even get into the stadium.

I went to a Rams game last season and the crowd was very mellow. No problems. I've been to several USC games but hadn't been to a pro game there since my grandfather took me to see the L.A. Express of the USFL when Steve Young was their QB back in the 1980's.

My dad had season seats for the Rams in the late 70's, end zone on the side that was the temporary seating. While most of my memories were of the Cowboys or Vikings knocking us out of the playoffs, there were rowdy folks back then as well.
I remember one game when I was about 12, at the game with my dad, & my two older brothers (22 & 20 at the time). This was when the cheerleaders (the Embraceable Ewes) wore the outfits with the hole in the middle of the chest, a kind of cleavage peep hole. By the 2nd quarter, one guy had had enough of the game and changed his focus to the cheerleaders. He was yelling stuff out about what he wanted to do to them, asking them to flash him (in cruder terms), that kind of stuff. After about 15 minutes of this, my dad turns around and says something like "Hey, would you watch your mouth, I've got a 12 year old boy here with me". The drunken response was something negative, at which time my brothers got involved and used language they learned from their days at Servite. The guys response was great, he said "C'mon, I'll take all 3 of you on & the kid too!!". By that time, security showed up and ushered him out.
As bad as some of those folks were, I still always felt safer inside the stadium than on the walk in - there were some bad neighborhoods around there back then.

Yeah, and the worst part was that those girls never did flash me.

The drunken response was something negative, I must have had the same guy because that's pretty much what happened with me. I thought for sure he'd say one more thing and I'd turn around and find myself in a brawl with some half wit. I think at some stadiums they don't sell alcohol anymore..................................Luca
