Gates defeated Democrat Eliz Markowitz 58 percent to 42 percent in the 28th District special election to fill a vacant seat, according to The Hill."
“Democrats everywhere said this Texas election was a ‘bellwether’ — and that it would set the tone for the entire 2020 election cycle,” said Austin Chambers, president of the Republican State Leadership Committee, according to the Houston Chronicle.
“Spoiler alert: They’re right, it was — just not with the outcome Democrats hoped for,” he said. 
The district appeared to be at play because although President Donald Trump won it by 10 points in 2016, Republican Sen. Ted Cruz won it by only 3 points when he defeated O’Rourke last year.
Democrats nationally and in Texas put more than $1 million into the race, CBS reported.
A parade of current and former Democratic presidential contenders had endorsed Markowitz or campaigned in the suburban Houston district to support Markowitz.
The list included former Vice President Joe Biden, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro and former Rep. Beto O’Rourke, according to CBS. |

So much for any GOP primary challenge to Trump....+96 is probably outside the margin of error. Th surprise isn't that Trump got 97% of the vote. It's that a pothead guitarist from the Eagles came in second. |

Gotta believe the DEMOCRAT DEBACLE last night gave investors a sigh of relief.... market is up a whopping 400+ points this morning!  The idea that a Keysian ,Socialist, Economy and Job Killing, Income Redistribution, Corporate, Wall Street enemy could get elected gave the market, traders and investors concern. Watching last night they must feel REST ASSURED! |

I could, maybe should issue you a citation as I am kinda known here and TOB as the "ON-TOPIC" police force....., I'll let the infraction slide but be noted and warned.... Being the "TOPIC POLICE" (Like a COP speeding on a FWY) I'll reply....., yes kick myself over not buying TESLA this past year, I'm a big believer in it's future, own one. However, my missed opportunity was chosen due to the fact I usually stay away from high flyers operating in the RED.Where I will admit I was wrong was to take a small position based on my other investing philosophy, ask yourself, look around you, what can you (company) NOT afford to be in......., right now its AMZN, AAPL and TSLA. I'm in two.
