I don't believe Rugby is a CIF sport yet. Not enough schools have it. It's a club team not actually a school team, although the vast majority are Friars. Besides the Fletchers, Orange Lutheran's Jared Amasio is on the team too. There are a few others also. That's true. There are definitely a handful of kids on the rugby team who are not Servite students.

The last time I heard (about a year ago), there were around 30 "schools" that played high school rugby.

Good to see they're on the right track with # of teams per division. I will say this, it's a fun sport to watch. It's like they figured out how to keep score in smear the queer.

It's kind of like high school ice hockey right now.

That's true. There are definitely a handful of kids on the rugby team who are not Servite students. Then how on earth can they be called the Servite (school) Rugby team...? Because Servite sponsors the team and it is not a CIF sport. It lies somewhere in the middle of club sports and the regular CIF sports. Students whose schools do not have a team can play for a school that does sponsor a team. It's the same with high school hockey here in SoCal. Most schools that field a team have a few kids on their teams who do not attend the school. At some point when (or if) these sports become fully CIF-sanctioned then, of course, only students enrolled in the school could play for the team.
