But Trump is only getting started... some of those guys had 8 years to compile their records.
However, the question asked, how can the left get upset, is valid. My opinion is, they would be pissed if he did not, and now they are pissed that he did. By the liberal zealots, this president is literally damned if he does and damned if he does not.

I'm continually surprised at some of the comments here that still assume--after three years of proven results--that Donald Trump is some sort of imbecile who acts without any thought or plan whatsoever.
Folks, you don't become a billionaire real estate developer in NYC, persuade Herschel Walker to forgo the NFL, recover from bankruptcy by emerging even stronger, create a wildly successful television brand, and win the Presidency in the face of unprecedented opposition and political dirty tricks without being incredibly sharp--and without the ability to out-think and outmaneuver a myriad of obstacles that would ruin an ordinary person.
I have absolutely no issue with any of these pardons--nor do I cheer them on for any reason. Michael Milken paid his time and, since his release, has by all accounts endeavored to give back to society. Blagojevich is a Democrat who also--rightly--paid a huge price for his misdeeds but is no danger to anyone. Incarcerating the guy any longer serves no purpose. And, politically, this is probably a case the Democrats would rather have disappear, since the selling of Obama's Senate seat only serves to remind people of their party's corruption.
What both of these pardons (along with the many lesser-known cases) show is that Trump's politics are not ruled completely by ideology but are sometimes surprisingly personal, transactional, and situational. And this is not necessarily a bad thing. In politics, I'll take pragmatism over dogmatism most days of the week.

Anyone dedicated to justice can only hope that the next pardon Trump issues is for Roger Stone. His entire case--from the investigation that generated the charge to the partisan prosecutors, judge, and jury forewoman--has been a complete and utter farce.
Great commentary by Tucker Carlson in the Daily Caller story linked below.
p.s. Like Pavlov's Dog, our Hidden Post guy will make some comment on this within the next several hours.

I think if I'm the POTUS, I'd pardon non violent drug offenders. Not dealers...just users.
Not sure if it would apply to states, but thinking it should.
