Trump just yesterday endorsed Tommy Tuberville over Jeff Sessions in the GOP primary runoff for the Senate seat previously vacated by Sessions and then won by Democrat Doug Jones in a fluke election against the flawed Judge Roy Moore in 2017. Republicans should take back the seat regardless of the GOP nominee, which is important in retaining GOP control of the Senate and determining the appointment of federal judges and SCOTUS appointments.

Sessions was weak, and his ridiculous decision to recuse himself from all Russia-related matters in the DOJ led directly to the phony Mueller investigation that hamstrung the administration and helped the Democrats take over the House in 2018.

Doug Jones is a Democrat in a heavily Red State. It was a fluke that he won the special election in 2017 and he will almost certainly lose to whoever the Republican nominee happens to be.

Sessions will beat Jones based on his experience in serving the people of Alabama.

Tuberville will beat Jones based on his experience as a college football coach at Auburn. The Roll Tide folks would still prefer a War Eagle over a Democrat.
