Yeah that was never a favorite of mine either, to put it mildly. But Lesley Gore (who was gay, BTW) played both sides of the war between the sexes. THIS was my favorite of all her songs:

There she is! Too bad she passed away from brain cancer at the young age of 56. And, I did know about Lesley's... umm... orientation??? I was broken-hearted when I found out. Not that there's anything wrong with that! (to quote a popular TV show, which may or may not reflect my views).
