With the latest mandate from Riverside County Health Officer that you must wear a mask in order to be out in public, I'm concerned we're being misled / misinformed about the risks and / or true health benefits of certain behaviors. I recall wearing a bandana on my face to keep from being wind burned when skiing back in the day, and having that thing being a snot crusted mess when I was done. I wanted to share below what WebMD has to offer regarding the use of masks, and this particular excerpt rings true. www.webmd.com/lung/features/coronavirus-masks-social-media

If I am out fishing all day and it is a sunny day, in addition to a hat, I'll wear a buff up over my ears, lips & cheeks in order to protect my skin from the sun. Even the best ones don't work well over your nose if you are wearing sunglasses, it causes the sunglasses to fog.
I guess I could wear it when out in public, but I will look like a bandit. What I don't like is the implied message that you can't trust your fellow man, that everyone outside of your immediate family is likely to kill you with a deadly disease. There also is the implied message that me and mine are clean, but the rest of the world is a bunch of filthy heathens.
Mixed messages = confusion = more fear = an easier to control public.

I'd hate to be a bank teller right now, with everyone coming in the front door wearing a mask.

I believe bank tellers have been instructed to sneeze on anyone that hands them a note demanding money
