At least Minneapolis is (also) talking about redeploying the new, improved police. But no one has seen a plan for that part, leading one to accept the city council is foolish to proceed until there IS a plan.

So, do those calling to defund the police lose their right to call law enforcement, whatever that may be?

The other angle shows the police line in riot gear moving forward and the man tries to walk thru it. He was pushed and fell backwards and hit his head. If you follow the direction of the police, you rarely get hurt. That man didn't and was hurt. The police won't be able to keep order / do their job if their bosses won't support them, or throw them under the bus to mollify the masses. Yes, the officers were doing what they are supposed to do. Clearing the area of protesters means herding the crowd, and the ones that won't move need to be physically forced to do so. The old fart that fell was pushed...a push that wasn't particularly violent, and the gangly old dude evidently couldn't keep his balance. Maybe the old coot should have considered his frailty BEFORE he decided to get confrontational. The old fart was probably a hippy in the '60s spitting on returning soldiers and rioting at the Chicago Democratic national convention.

So, do those calling to defund the police lose their right to call law enforcement, whatever that may be? They sure should. Only 16% support the idea of defunding the police. An idea like that could be the end of Minnesota as a blue or even purple state. These riots have also dealt a huge blow to gun control advocates. According to a story on Fox today, gun purchases are up 80% over the same time last year. One store owner interviewed said his sales are up 300%, and he only had one rifle left on the wall and maybe a dozen handguns left in the display cases. Even my wife, who has always opposed guns in the house, has decided on a Beretta Pico handgun. I'll be buying the shotgun. I support the police, but I am seeing signs that I need to play a part in the defense of me and mine.

So, do those calling to defund the police lose their right to call law enforcement, whatever that may be? Nope, they’ll still call ... and when police response is delayed, those doing the defunding will use it as further reason the police should be defunded.

The greatest threat to blacks in the inner city are white liberals--who are clearly insane, as you can see in the interview below with Minneapolis City Council President Lisa bender.

"Defunding the police" is not supported by the people, which is why elected Democrats like Biden and others are trying to back away from this sentiment as carefully as they can. Good luck, though, putting the toothpaste back in that tube.

Was eating in my local sandwich shop when an interesting looking young man walked in with a golf club (an iron)...
There isn’t a golf course within 30 miles of the shop.

I was reading This article in American Thinker and it made me think of this thread... i had gotten to the end of the article where they’re talking about the rioters suddenly having these shiny new AR-15’s. so I hopped through The Link to the full report on Open Books to get a gander at who is spending what: Turns out under Obama, but beginning in 2006, federal agencies ... most of which have no need for armament... have spent BILLIONS of dollars on weapons and ammunition. have they only been trying to make it more difficult for the average citizen to get, or, when Obama said “We cannot continue to rely only on our military ... we've got to have a civilian security force just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded. We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set.” Was he setting up something else? starting on page 9, that report lists agencies like The Internal Revenue Service, with its 2,316 special agents, spent nearly $11 million on guns, ammunition and military-style equipment. Federal agencies spent $313,958 on paintball equipment, along with $14.7 million on Tasers, $1.6 million on unmanned aircraft, $8.2 million on buckshot, $7.44 million on projectiles, and $4 million on grenades/launchers. The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service spent $4.77 million purchasing shotguns, .308 caliber rifles, night vision goggles, propane cannons, liquid explosives, pyro supplies, buckshot, LP gas cannons, drones, remote controlled helicopters, thermal cameras, military waterproof thermal infrared scopes, and more. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) spent $3.1 million on guns, ammunition and military-style equipment. The EPA has spent $715 million on its ‘Criminal Enforcement Division’ from FY2005 to present even as the agency has come under fire for failing to perform its basic functions. 11. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) spent $11.66 million including more than $200,000 on ‘night vision equipment,’ $2.3 million on ‘armor – personal,’ more than $2 million on guns, and $3.6 million on ammunition. Veterans Affairs has 3,700 law enforcement officers guarding and securing VA medical centers. Makes me wonder what’s going on, and who is arming the seditious groups.

Allen West pretty ably dispatches the idea that Black Lives Matter (Inc.) has anything to do with actually improving black lives.
