Anyone remember him? That question itself is an indication of how all of the rioting, looting, cancel culture, and historical vandalism in the past six weeks has nothing to do with Floyd, and that his death was merely a convenient pretext for unleashing a long-planned election year attack on the nation.
Setting that aside, it may be worth having a thread specifically devoted to his case, if for nothing other reason than creating a record of the false narrative at the root of the madness, much like the MSM narratives in cases of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown were riddled with falsehoods and purposeful omissions in order to drive an agenda. I know there have already been some posts in previous threads that looked at some of the details of the case, so let this piggyback off those.
NOTE: THIS IS IN NO WAY A JUSTIFICATION OF EVERY ACTION OF THE OFFICERS INVOLVED OR AN ARGUMENT THAT "HE GOT WHAT HE DESERVED."
We shouldn't be surprised if the officers are acquitted, as they were likely following the written procedures of the Minneapolis PD. A lot of the body cam footage which showed Floyd resisting the officers has been withheld from the public. Why?

What a disgusting thing to say. Your ignorance is only overshadowed by your classlessness.

I may have written this before, but summertime is a time for reruns, so here goes.
There is a difference between someone getting what they deserve & someone being responsible for their actions. Further, it is not blaming a person for something when you acknowledge that actions can lead to consequences often outside of ones control. People make decisions and those decisions always lead to some kind of reaction.
The looting & rioting that occurred in late May & early June happened when protests were infiltrated by folks who had no interest in the protests themselves. The looters & rioters used the protests as cover to commit their crimes. If no one had protested, there would have been no place for the looters & rioters to hide and all of that damage to our country never would have happened. So a byproduct of the protests was destruction.
The decision by Derek Chauvin to kneel on George Floyds neck until he died created the emotion in the country that led to the protests. Had Chauvin chosen not to murder Floyd, there would have been no protests and no looting or riots.
The decision by George Floyd to get high in public and pass counterfeit money led to his encounter with the police & specifically Derek Chauvin. Had Floyd chose not to do those things, he never would have encountered Chauvin that day, there would have been no murder, no protests, no riots or looting.
Floyd, Chauvin and all of the protesters made decisions that initiated a string of events that led to huge economic cost to this country as well as deaths of individuals. Had any of them made a different decision in those late days of May, the outcome would have been very different.

Police body cam footage was just released yesterday, and it's going to make it very tough to get the kind of conviction that was hyped up in June. Floyd was high on fentanyl--among other things--and was saying all kinds of wild things. Now we know why the state withheld this footage until now.
It really looks like Chauvin and the other officers were simply following MPD procedure. You can criticize the policy, but the defense will use that to avoid conviction. Tragic situation, but not murder.

I foresee this ending in a reduced sentence or exoneration...
Can you imagine what is going to occur when this case goes to trial next year? Oh boy.

If the officers are found anything but guilty or receive anything but the maximum penalty, the Rodney King riots in South Los Angeles will look like batting practice. BLM and ANTIFA terrorists will go nationwide.

It will, in my never-to-be-considered humble opinion, be worse, because they will know that limp wash rag will do nothing to stop them.

This article is worth reading. As it turns out Chauvin “was doing it by the book.” New 'Absolutely Shocking' Evidence Presented in the George Floyd Case Attorneys for former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin are requesting the dismissal of murder and manslaughter charges against him for the death of George Floyd. They're using the police training manual as justification. According to the Minneapolis Police Department training manual, officers are shown how to subdue violent or resisting suspects by placing their knee on the neck. townhall.com/tipsheet/katiepavlich/2020/09/02/new-evidence-in-the-george-floyd-case-that-could-change-everything-n2575428

Just did a quick look-up of stats. George Floyd was 6'4" at autopsy and he weighed 223 pounds! Derek Chauvin is 5'9" and 140 pounds! Chauvin was probably too scared to let go of his neck, the guy was gigantic!

What's the difference between Floyd and our new Palestinian "victims"?
