As a kid, my dad used to take me up to Chavis Ravine to watch Don Drysdale, Sandy Koufax, Tommy Davis... and all the rest of the Dodgers.
But, then in the 60’s Anaheim built a grand, new stadium right on the Santa Ana River, and the Angels moved in, and I don’t recall going to another Dodgers game after that.
Since then, I’ve been an unrepentant Angels fan, even despite the lack of information readily available here in the Midwest, so every hear, I wait for MLB.TV subscriptions to go on sale and pick one up when they dip below $100.
everyone is aware they did poorly last year, Mike Scioscia‘s final year as a manager... complain about him leaving a pitcher in too long notwithstanding, I was sorry to see him go.
so far in Spring Training, I’m seeing a lot that makes me hopeful on offense, so-so on defense, and still concerned about pitching... always pitching.
new manager (Brad Ausmus), new or recycled/called up players, new rumors about the Angels moving... i am not expecting a run at the playoffs this year.
Prove me wrong.

Huge Angel Fan as well....., went to my first game in 1967 and still have my hat from that day. The old CA on it along with a moth hole on the bill's felt lining ;(
One of my highlights in sports was to see them beat SF in a World Series game. Its been tough of late and it stresses me to see Trout go wasted in Anaheim.
Can't vouch for them this year but what I see in spring looks a bit better than the past....

I have no interest in baseball but if you guys are serious Angel fans it might interest you to know that Chuck Finley was my next door neighbor for several years after he retired.
You'd really like him. He is a very approachable guy and polite, etc. He also knows a lot about trees and plants since his parents owned a nursery in Louisiana where he grew up. I often had to ask him what the hell was wrong with trees or bushes I was trying to grow. ("Are you giving them enough water?"......... "Uh, water?"). One of his classmates in college in Louisiana was Karl Malone, and they wound up living right near each other for 2 years in Newport.

Recently divorced. I had never heard of her but she seemed nice enough.
He had two very nice daughters and he really manned up to take care of them after the marriage problems. I always admired him for that.

Couple me of my greatest concerns is Mike Trout being wasted. im sure his agent is trying to convince Mike to let him shop him to other teams and I’m thrilled he has resisted so far... bu5 for how long. and, Luca, my neighbor (and right across the street from Dukes aunt) was Nolan Ryan, for who’s children, my sister babysat.

Was he married to that hot, crazy wife at the time? Tawny Kitaen, who came to notoriety as the vixen slithering on the car hood in the Whitesnake video for "Here I go again" and the co-star with Tom Hanks in the movie "Bachelor Party". Absolutely gorgeous until her early 40's, when she hit a wall with too much plastic surgery and too much cocaine. She now looks like a lizard. A young lizard, but a lizard nonetheless. She was actually charged with spousal abuse against Chuck Finley in the early 2000's when she kicked him in the face a bunch of times with high heeled shoes. Chuck, to his credit, did not get physical back in response, he just removed himself from the situation (they were driving at the time if I recall). He divorced nearly immediately after. As a teen, I grew up in Peralta Hills, at a time when most of the Angel players either lived there, Villa Park or Yorba Linda. My younger sister used to babysit Rod Carews daughter Michelle on the weeknight evenings the Angels had home games (Rod's wife would go to those games, the kids only went on non-school nights). Michelle tragically died of leukemia in 1996. My sister described Rod as very quiet & shy. He once showed up at our front door with my sisters horse in hand, it had gotten out of the barn & ended up & their house.
