I have an acquaintance who follows the Q-Anon stuff and believes it. She is a good person, a productive member of society, gives way more than she takes, all around someone you want to have to have in your community. A few months ago, she sent me a link to a really long video about Q-Anon and I found holes in it that made me not believe it. There would be true information and relevant facts, but the conclusions didn't always match up to me. Sort of like saying that 2+2 equals 4, and the number two is spelled with 3 letters, so two + two also equals 6. Then, the number between 4 & 6 is 5, which is shaped like a 2. Stuff that would make me tilt my head & kind of wince.
Anyway, I told her I didn't see how they always got from point A to point D, so I didn't find moist of it relatable. She was fine with that, never tried to convince me of it and it hasn't changed our relationship. She has her beliefs, I have mine, they are different, so what? She isn't hurting anyone believing the way she does and when the press tries to get Trump to badmouth Q-Anon, I see it as way to try to make Trump lose voters. They really don't care about Q-Anon believers, they just want Trump to say something negative about it in hopes that some of his base will turn away from him.
Compare that to the Russia Collusion Hoax that was spread for the first 3 years of Trumps term. Like QAnon, it took a few basic truths and stitched them together to make a Frankenstein of a conclusion. There was nothing foundational about the accusation and even after being debunked, its believers continue to pursue it. The difference was the media & the Democratic party was on board for this one. They spread lies, they pushed the innuendo, they even got the FBI to put together a report about it. Then, even though the report said 'nothing here", the Dems chose to impeach Trump based on purported process crimes. To this day, a majority of Democrats still believe the Trump Administration colluded with the Russians to win the election.
At least the Q-Anon folks keep to themselves...

At least the Q-Anon folks keep to themselves... And have not resorted to rioting, looting, beating and killing for their cause.

Do you always paint an entire group based on the actions of 1 individual? If you do, then lets us judge all gay folks based on Jeffrey Dahmer. All gays would be considered cannibalistic lunatics. Your choice, Leon.

Do you always paint an entire group based on the actions of 1 individual? No, but if it's ok for you to paint the 'left' as violent thugs based on the actions of some individuals it's ok for me too. So suck it. Oh, and to use your logic again, I blame them all because they didn't publicly denounce the AR-15 wielding guy...satisfied now? ROFL.

So suck it. . Objection, assumes facts not in evidence. Unless you can provide evidence that I have done what you accuse, you will have to be satisfied with sucking yourself. With your weak dodge, you admitted there was only one person in the Q-Anon crowd who has ever done anything nefarious. So you can either retract your accusation or admit that it is fair to consider all gay people as cannibalistic lunatics. Once again, your choice Leon

I always try to take into consideration the intelligence of my target reader when I post. Yes, and you never take responsibility for being a dick. It's the typical Republican idiocy. Blame the person you're insulting. Well done, but not terribly impressive as a tactic. You misunderstand me. I proudly take full, complete, and 100% responsibility for being a dick. I may be the only poster on this board who's willing to do that, although maybe RSM is right there with me. My dickness is not the issue. It's your insistence on crashing a party where you aren't wanted, your refusing to leave, and your constant insulting of others here who disagree with you. I've tried at least six times here and on TOB to engage you in a civil manner, but every time you've taken the discussion off the road into personal animus. I lost what little respect I had for you in the Lee discussion when you cavalierly dismissed my 15 years of studying the man. At that point it became apparent that your ego and need to be "right" is more important to you than conceding a point and learning something from an authority greater than your own. If you want respectful discussion, it's your turn to take the first step, because I've been slapped down a half dozen times and I'm done trying. Suck on that for a while.

Now hold on there, MDDad: I have always taken responsibility for being a dick to Vile Butthead. Although, I cannot claim any effort to trying to engage him civilly, like you, RSM, and Bick have. I have always known him to be a recalcitrant, refractory reprobate and I wouldn’t even engage him civilly on TOB once it quickly became clear he had no interest in Orange County other than to rid the place of me and one or two others because our host had not the balls to speak to us directly.

Classic Trump. "Is that supposed to be a bad thing...or a good thing?" Ask a stupid question, prepare to look like a schmuck.

Do you all remember when that right-wing QAnon supporter showed up in Virginia while congressmen and their staff were practicing for a charity baseball game in 2017, asking "are these Republicans or Democrats", and upon hearing "Democrats" opened fire, nearly killing Rep. Steve Scalise of Iowa and wounding three others?
Neither do I.
Wait--it was a Leftist Bernie Sanders supporter, and he fired upon Republicans. Now I remember...even if the media doesn't.

Steve Scalise of Iowa and wounding three others? No, as it never happened. Do you remember when Matthew Phillip Wright of Henderson, Nevada, was arrested on terrorism and other charges for driving an armored truck, containing an AR-15 and handgun, to the Hoover Dam and blocking traffic for 90 minutes? It was on June 15, 2018. Do you remember Anthony Comello of Staten Island, New York? He was charged with the March 2019 murder of Gambino crime family underboss Frank Cali. According to his defense attorney, Comello had become obsessed with QAnon theories, believing Cali was a member of a "deep state," and was convinced he "was enjoying the protection of President Trump himself" to place Cali under citizen's arrest. Confronting Cali outside his Staten Island home, Comello allegedly shot Cali ten times. An FBI "Intelligence Bulletin" memo from the Phoenix Field Office dated May 30, 2019 identified QAnon-driven extremists as a domestic terrorism threat, the first time a fringe conspiracy theory had been labelled as such. The memo cited a number of arrests related to QAnon, some of which had not been publicized before. But yeah, these guys are respectable and worthy of your support....carry on.
