We all come across a news item from time to time that just makes us think (or exclaim), “what kind of idiot...” and, sometimes, we just roll our eyes. Maybe we can capture these tidbits to allow others, here, to exercise those eye muscles. now, I know what you’re thinking: “There’s a member, here, who posts a lot of eye-rolling idiocy.” But let’s try to keep his posts away from this thread. O.K.? This first article is about A DEMOCRAT CONGRESSMAN CHAINING HIMSELF TO A US MAILBOX claiming “they’re not getting this one.” as that linked article puts it

The Postmaster General had a 2016 report that stated in the previous 5 years (2010 - 2015), the Post Office removed 12,000 mailboxes as part of cost cutting procedures. Turns out that was not entirely accurate. They later revised the number to 14,000.
Where was Peter Defazio then??

I takes them awhile to...you know...get up to speed on stuff.

My dad used to get confused when he wanted us to get chicken from KFC. He'd say "lets order some of that Kentucky Colonel chicken". We'd roll our eyes at him "No dad, its Colonel Sanders and Kentucky Fried Chicken. Quit combining them".

If Democrats are just figuring out in 2020 that the USPS is poorly run and not entirely reliable, then they're even dumber than I thought.
On the other hand, Trump's constant hammering home of this point is going to force some people to reconsider voting by mail. More people at the polls on election day--and that's all to the good.

Two other points should also be made. One, Trump supporters are much more passionate in their support of their candidate than those of Biden, and are therefore much more likely to vote. And two, Trump supporters are much more likely to go to their polling places to vote, while Biden supporters will largely vote by mail. So if there are mail-in ballots that are lost, late or otherwise deemed ineligible, they will more likely be Biden votes. Both likelihoods favor Trump.

Just saw this today, but heard rumors about it last week: SCHOOL DISTRICT ASKS PARENTS TO NOT MONITOR CHILDREN’s ONLINE SCHOOL SESSIONS
First, their reasoning is lame: Parents are allowed (many times, even encouraged) to sit in on in-person classes, and even if they were not, what “private” information is going to be available in an on-line class? Catch some kid picking their nose? Second, NOT because they realized their folly, but because parents raised a royal rhubarb over the “request” (which had a punishment for non-compliance, so it was more like a demand), the school district has softened its stance: By a show of hands, how many parents in this space would heed either letter: Would you stay away (with or without permission from the instructor)?

The reason for the demand is obvious - if you're going to brainwash someone, the last thing you want is relatives of the victim watching you.
Rather than sign such an agreement, it would make me much more likely to watch the proceedings than I was before.
