You talk historic, this is monumental..., so much so it deserves its own thread.... if this isn't Noble Peace prize they are correct, they should end giving it out.
And din't they say Trump would start a war! What about Kushner not qualified to lead talks....!!

You’re right. I don’t think it’s getting the play that it deserves. Virtually every American president since At least Nixon has tried to get these nations to at least recognize each other. If nothing goes wrong, this is a start of a major revision in the Middle East and it cracks me up that Donald Trump is right in the middle of it. The very last thing his opponents would’ve thought possible is Donald Trump instigating an historic foreign-policy victory. It’s a nightmare for them. We’ll see.................Luca

No, you were actually 3rd. You even got beat by yourself. In any case, Juan Williams said today that what people are missing is that the UAE will now be able to purchase weapons from the US, which they could use to attack Iran. Therefore, this treaty is not one of peace, but one that is ushering in war. He is such a ninny. When, ever, has the UAE ever attacked any country? Further, why does the left always look at weapons as being used for aggression as opposed to defense? With less US troops in the middle east, the UAE knows it needs to be able to protect itself, so signing a peace treaty with Israel and buying arms from the US makes that happen.

Therefore, this treaty is not one of peace, but one that is ushering in war. He is such a ninny. You needn't mock my absence of IT skills. I get enough of it in my office. "Ninny", does not quite convey the idiocy of William's comment. I don't know what his exact quote was, but the idea that the UAE would attack Iran is based on an impressive lack of understanding of both the Middle East and military fundamentals . No matter how much military equipment they would theoretically buy from the US, the UAE would be hopelessly out gunned and overmatched in any assault on Iran. They'd get crushed. They could not possibly develop from scratch an Air Force that could seriously threaten Iran - an effective Air Force requires enormous logistics which the UAE does not have and will not acquire - and they would not dare use missiles. Iran likely has far more than they do and, being a smaller country, the UAE is more susceptible to damage. What is he thinking? They would mount an amphibious assault? Normandy II?................Luca

What is he thinking? They would mount an amphibious assault? Normandy II?................Luca What he's thinking is that an Israel-UAE peace agreement goes on the Credit side of the Trump balance sheet, and he is casting any silly hypothetical dispersions on the agreement to negate that credit. If you pulled a thousand kids out of a burning orphanage, Williams might speculate that some of the orphans you saved might turn out to be poor students, just to piss in your lunchbox. It's kind of what his type does.
