I wouldn't want to buck the odds by electing a rookie every four years. Except a person who has run multi-million dollar companies is not a rookie. They have more skills running an organization than any Senator, no matter how long they have been in office. The presidency is called the executive branch for a reason. Its not like you are taking some kid who just got fired from McDonalds and electing him president. Amen to that. You need to have demonstrated a reasonable amount of success in a private sector leadership role that clearly exposes you to accountability.
