I think the Dems might have over-cooked the books on this one. No you don't...hardly at all.

Now that you lost the election let's hear all the nonsense about how the election was fraudulent...after all, how could a Democrat win an election in CA. without cheating?
ROFL.

Frankly, it’s not like Republicans put any effort into this…

The reason most of us don't know many people who voted No is because we all tend to surround ourselves with people who think like we do. This recall was a conservative wet dream from the start, for many reasons:
(1) Democrats outnumber Republicans more than 2 to 1 in California.
(2) Question 1 is treated like a ballot proposition, so monetary contributions are unlimited and Newsom was able to raise millions from public employee unions, the entertainment industry and big tech. Question 2 is treated like an election, so campaign donation rules applied and limited contributions to a couple thousand dollars. Newsom outspent the Yes campaign and his rivals combined by 10 to 1.
(3) Newsom was able to trot out Kamala Harris, Barack Obama and Joe Biden to campaign for him. The Republicans essentially brought out nobody in support of any of their candidates. Where were Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, Greg Abbott, Ted Cruz and all the other bigtime Republicans? Where was the state or national Republicans party, who endorsed nobody and kept silent during the entire process?
(4) Newsom was able to change this process from a referendum on his performance to an election between himself and Larry Elder, and Republicans had no answer for that. Neither Newsom nor his supporters ever talked about any of his accomplishments, because there aren't any. But they spoke endlessly about Trump, Trump, Trump, as though Trump was one of the candidates running to replace him. And Republicans had no answer for that.
(5) Elder ran a stupid campaign, never appearing at any debates to more widely spread his message.
(6) The media, as usual, was 100% onesided in its coverage of both sides.
The Republican party is a joke and an embarrassment. They have no answer for anything the Democrats do, and the best thing that could happen in this country is for the party to become extinct and allow conservatives to find a new home.

Frankly, it’s not like Republicans put any effort into this… Elder put a ton more effort into it than Newsom did. I suppose Pelosi's nephew had been assured he had nothing to worry about...the fix was in.

I didn’t see one big name RNC campaign for Elder, NOT ONE.
Republicans knew it was a lost cause from the beginning. Guess I was too naive to see the same.

Gavin was elected in 2018 with a 61.9% vote. Despite all of the issues we have in California, Gavin increased his margin to 63.9%. Is it any wonder why Dems love mail-in ballots?
Destroyed the economy with his Covid lockdowns, huge wildfires, his super train to nowhere, huge unemployment, homelessness everywhere, promises to build more dams not happening, power grid issues, businesses fleeing the state, huge gas taxes, free health care for illegals, sanctuary state, school lockdowns, etc......

2020 Presidential election the Dems had to stop the election in the middle of the night to magically procure the 81 million votes needed to beat Trump....that was not going to happen this time. This one they front loaded to blow everyone out from the start. Gavin still has an open path to the WH, in their eyes.

Now every ambitious Democrat in California knows that's the recipe for winning elections in this state. I just hope I can get outta here before it implodes.

I didn’t see one big name RNC campaign for Elder, NOT ONE. That's because the GOP sucks. We conservatives spend our days whining and complaining on forums like this one about everything that's wrong with this country, and then we don't do sh*t about it. I despise almost everything Democrats stand for, but I have to commend them on the fact that they're passionate, they work their asses off, and they vote. They have also pioneered ways to cheat in elections, and it will take the GOP 50 years to realize the answer is to cheat even bigger and better.
