The deeper Newsom gets into doo doo, the quicker the HSFB (and other sports) open up. If you want a season-get 2 million plus signatures.

There are many question marks at this point, I'm sure I will be hearing more in the coming days...
There are also a couple key players that have scholarships in other sports in which a sport overlap would likely have them sit out football. Especially if that Feb 23rd date doesn't hit and we push back a week or two....
Otherwise, CDM football has been idle, coaches and parents opted to stick it out and not have any club players except of one I know of. The big QB competition also could not materialize since there was no club nor practice. Will be curious to see now how or if that shakes out. Its been over a year for our guys with no contact ball. Personally, I am not sure its wise to even play with maybe two weeks prep and conditioning. I also know of a couple starters at some privates here in OC that are getting pressure from their scholorship schools to NOT play. Will be interesting to see how that goes as our Trinity teams here in OC are mostly scholarship kids.... any Servite or Mater Dei guys here wanna show their hand on that one!

SK, I don't know if you're intentionally trying to stir the pot or if you just don't know the facts, but the majority of kids on Trinity League teams are NOT college "scholarship kids". Not even close. At Mater Dei, seniors Jaylin Davies and Cristian Dixon graduated at the semester break and headed off to Oregon and Michigan respectively. The other six seniors with college scholarships (Tyler Narayan, Marceese Yetts, Raesjon Davis, Ross Maseuli, Kyron Ware-Hudson and George Miki-han) are all playing. Is that "showing our hand" good enough?

Besides, you've got game film on us from the last time you rolled us. What QB competition were you referring to?

We only have a handful of scholarship committed seniors here at Servite, and I don't have any insight at this point into anyone opting out of playing this Spring. I'm just happy for the majority of seniors for whom this is the last time they'll strap it up in tackle football--and for the underclassmen who will get a running start for next Fall.

Hey, has anyone experienced making a post/reply and then later not seeing it, happened yesterday and again today..... MDDad, is it fair to say the highest concentration amongst starters, not lumping in the other 40 guys on the team...... second and third string. Bick, LOL @ 2019 game tape... QB position at CDM for obvious reasons (Sr. departure w/ no practice) is a unknown. I really like our Sophomore who was great running the Frosh team in 2019. With the departure of Garbers two Senior transfers arrived on campus, one from Norcal the other out of state. When the pandemic hit and football cancelled I was surprised both stayed. So what was suppose to be an open competition for the position never materialized. I suspect it may start this week.

I wonder if that will be pushed back or scaled down because of this unusual March/April "season?"

Wow, CdM may be angling to become the public school version of Bosco and Mater Dei... (This is where MDDad chimes in about Servite senior transfer Blaze McKibben, the #6 QB in the Trinity League in 2018.)
