They are so screwed up, I wonder if there is hope of turning things around. Also, if France a major changed happened.

Left... Everything Trump said was a lie, and we're in a great place.
Right... Our guy is better than dementia guy
Independents... Good Lord, this is the best we've got?
Look for a new DNC candidate from the great state of CA. It's a set-up

I can remember watcing the Kennedy-Nixon debate as a young child, and I've watched many of them since. Last night's was the worst I've ever seen. Some observations:
(1) The insults and name-calling were more childish than what you hear on a grade-school playground.
(2) The two moderators were shockingly fair and unbiased.
(3) Every question followed the same sequence: The question was asked of one candidate, and he ignored the question and lied or exaggerated his ass off about something else. Then his opponent called him a liar and lied or exaggerated on his own points. Then the original candidate called HIM a liar and lied some more. Then it was on to the next question and the same bullcrap. It was disgusting.
(4) Almost all the damage done to Joe Biden was self-inflicted.
(5) I don't know what was more pathetic -- that one candidate is now a certified vegetable, or that the other candidate couldn't mop the floor with the vegetable.
(6) I'm old enough to come from a time when it was expected that a president be articulate. These two guys could only rarely string together a grammatically correct sentence all night.
(7) It's embarrassing that for the second straight presidential election, American citizens couldn't do any better than these two assholes to represent their respective parties.
(8) If you still need proof that an alternate universe or a Bizarro World exists, read some of the comments on TOB about last night's shenanigans.

Biden did way better than what I thought he was going to do. Interestingly, most of the Democrats only realized "after" the debate that he has dementia. But I don't don't it was as bad as I have seen in the past. He is the perfect candidate for the Democrats, no doubt. Look how he took on the corporate interests in this video:

I actually preferred the more muzzled Trump I think Trump could have made better points. The Democrats, and Biden in particular are such low hanging fruit. They screwed things up so bad. We are on the verge of an all out nuclear war, we have war in the Middle East AGAIN. Inflation is killing Americans, and it could get worse if the economy collapses. Rather than asking Hillary if she would support the winner of the debate, they asked Trump. What a joke. Remember the RNC was so afraid that Trump would not support the Republican nominee in 2016, they went to his office in New York and asked him to sign an agreement stating he would support whoever the RNC nominee was. He told them that he would sign, but everyone else needed to sign first. Jeb, Cruz, and the rest signed. But what happened after the convention and primaries. Curz, Jeb, Rubio and others refused to support the nominee. Remember the line "Trust Ted"? You can't Trust Cruz, although he was my second pick in 2016. He is better now, but it too the people to convince him. Jeb is still a jerk.

I wish I could be stunned that there's so many on the left that continue to run cover for Biden even after last night with no GOP spin to hide behind. It truly is a function of anyone but Trump. Damn - they weren't kidding.
Back to Trump...I can't recall anyone who just couldn't take an easy win the way he does. Does he know he really think the high road comes after about 3 shots of good bourbon? He doesn't drink, so maybe that's it.

I didn't see him taking the low road Bick, other than mentioning Hunter, but only after Biden mentions Trump's convictions. My critique on Trump is he missed the chance of bringing up the border crisis in relation to the pentanol crisis. All of that stuff comes from China. We need to control the border.
From the AP: CLAIM: “They missed the statute of limitations by a lot because this was very old. They could have brought this seven years ago instead of bringing it right in the middle of the election.” THE FACTS: Judge Merchan in February denied a request from Trump’s legal team to dismiss the indictment on the grounds that the statute of limitations had passed, according to court documents. In his decision, Merchan cited pandemic-era executive orders issued in March 2020 and April 2021 by former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo that extended the limit on filing criminal charges. New York’s statute of limitations for most felonies is five years. The earliest charge in Trump’s felony indictment was described as occurring on Feb. 14, 2017, while the indictment was filed on March 30, 2023.
But Cuomo’s executive orders meant that the deadline for filing the charges in the indictment was extended by one year and 47 days, meaning that it was brought just under the wire.
I didn't expect Biden to call so many names. People forget about that.

Anyone see the Kennedy "debate"? Would be interesting to see what a grown up Presidential candidate sounds like.

I don't care what they sound like, I want them to do the right thing. I remember my wife mentioning a few years ago the Andrew Cuomo sounded so reasonable compared to Trump. Yah, sure, but who cares how they sound. RFK would be my second choice, but his VP pick is a leftist. She is the estranged wife of a Google cofounder.
