Not sure it's possible, but really need to adjust the paradigm. Trump & Biden can't lead the other side.
Listening to Kennedy on the debate reminded me of what objective compromise used to sound like. That neither candidate wanted him up there should speak volumes.

Remember when Kennedy announced? I was a big voice for him on this forum. I still like him. He is a lawyer. Don't get me wrong, we need laws a ways to allow for regress, but... We still need to see who Trump picks as his running mate. Personally, I hope it is someone conservative like Lake, Rand Paul, etc. I doubt he will pick Jeb. Or Rubio. Or Cruz. Jeb wouldn't accept for sure. LOL A leftist like Jeb or Liz Cheney would be out of the question. It sounds like if Mitt were running, you might pick him, no? I think Romney could bring a lot of Democrats to the Republican party.

I don't care what they sound like, I want them to do the right thing. I remember my wife mentioning a few years ago the Andrew Cuomo sounded so reasonable compared to Trump. Yah, sure, but who cares how they sound. RFK would be my second choice, but his VP pick is a leftist. She is the estranged wife of a Google cofounder. I'm a libertarian minded voter, each and every time a "Libertarian" candidate or option prevents itself it becomes a non-option. The notion, action made by RFK in picking a radical leftist as a VP again proves my point. No longer a remote option. I've thrown Rand Paul's name out consistently here over the years and of late been reading more and more on his father Ron. Had Ron had just a bit more electoral success maybe that would have gone a long(er) way in solidifying the "Libertarian" brand.

I liked Ron and joined the Republican Party so I could vote for him in the Primary.

Is this potentially the Democratic ticket in four months? I can see the lawn signs and bumper stickers now: "VOTE FOR NEWSOM & BLEW SOME"

The VP is going to take a back seat to a white man? Possibly, new campaign slogan, "Make America Slavery & MisogynyAgain"!

Looks like we've found an escapee from the nether regions from which we came.

If I were Kamala Harris, I would do everything I could to avoid debating Vance. He is intelligent, articulate, he is not a politician, and he speaks like a normal person. Kamala's only claim to fame is that her mouth is shaped exactly like Willie Brown's penis.

I don't understand why the consensus in the Democratic Party - following the assassination attempt on Donald Trump as well as the collapse of a few of these dubious lawsuits - now appears to be that there will be no further efforts to get Biden off the Democratic ticket. Trump has had a significant boost because of the recent developments and I would think that would increase their motivation to replace a candidate who in contrast is challenged to complete a sentence, let alone make it coherent. I have never been a Donald Trump enthusiast but if forced to choose between him and a candidate bordering on outright dementia I'll likely vote for Trump this time.
I cannot see any connection between the assassination attempt and the decision to stay with Biden. I would like to have seen a viable alternative. I'm missing something here. Does anybody have any ideas why?
