Picking games for the week ain't that hard. This week for example you could use:
Servite -27 1/2 at Sierra Canyon Los Alamitos -14 1/2 at Santa Margarita Mission Viejo at Alemany -1/2 San Clemente at Edison -3 1/2 Villa Park -2 1/2 at Valencia Yorba Linda -12 1/2 at Chino Hills

No way new thread every week will muck up the high school section! Maybe Bick can PIN my (our) rules at the top and title it "PLAYA POOL RULES". And there r not really that many rules, it was really just try and pick one sunset and one south coast league and avoid 35+ point spreads..... if you want to drop both or one weigh in.... get rid of league was real a suggestion to keep OC peeps interested, but the point spreads seem logical, what knowledge is in a 50 point spread? Its will or will not the coach call off the dogs..... or who calls "running clock" quickest... thats not sport!

I think the spreads moved anyway from what SixthMan posted, the projections were not updated is my guess..... MDDad, so you in?! Step right up, I think we would welcome new playa just one point behind last place..... which right now isn't much!

I used the difference in the schools' power ratings, which in my experience has been more accurate more often than their "Project A Matchup" equation.

you would think they would be somewhat one and the same..... yet not.... that said, we are using project a match-up which must be doing very well as we are mostly all around .500 or even which is what vegas aims for...... only difference here I am not collecting the juice!

Are you just using the difference in power rating? You'd make yourself a 22 point favorite over Bosco? Seems like they agree with you somewhat. Interesting idea...

Whatever the methodology, I think both have merit, however one is an actual predicted score giving a spread, the other using one factor of deduction of one rating from another to project a spread, so that is not really a "score". Not to say over time it could be as valid. I've made up my own as well..... ha!
That said, we started the season going off "project a match-up and will continue to do so.
With that, are we going with 6Man games as selected? Should we have him in the least replace the two that are over the 35 point spread rule which makes the most sense, if he does not chime in by later tonight I will pick one from my suggested/example list and one from MDDads even though he isn't a playa...., he does understand the game a bit

Calculator's fine. I used the difference in the schools' power ratings, which in my experience has been more accurate more often than their "Project A Matchup" equation. Here is that current equation.... ""Projection" ratings are used on this screen, as opposed to the standard ratings seen on this site. They are very much like the other ratings seen on this site, except that recent results are weighted more heavily and the "politically correct" moderately-low cutoff point at which margin of victory is no longer counted is eliminated.
Historical ratings of the teams (including head-to-head history) are a very small factor in projections. In other words, predicting future outcomes and acknowledging to-date success are not the same thing. Given that two different systems are used, yes, the results will be different in some cases. You do not need to try to contact us every time you see Team A rated above Team B, but Team B predicted to beat Team A in a hypothetical or real game. It happens."
