If you didn't catch this truth sayer, critical thinker, (whom could have imagined), Joe Rogan is slaying the left and if you are not following him, listening to his podcasts you are missing something very important in America right now, the truth. Here he is eating the left for lunch yet again....

That is funny BICK, the first person that came to mind was Clapton. Neil Young may have produced some good music, but he is a fool.

Yet again we see the intolerance of the "all inclusive" left. Neil Young is as gifted an artist as there ever was, I have seen him in concert many times throughout the decades. His artistry is unparalleled, many consider him the best song writer only behind Bob Dylan. I listen to what he says, feels with open mind and heart. Being of conservative mind, why is this so hard for the left? Why do they want to ban open thought, dialogue and speech? Why won't the listen, why won't they agree to disagree? How sad to be engineered this way, how sad to NOT be all inclusive of ideas. And why are these people so threatened? Is it insecurity? Is it the need and desire to control? Is it the so called all inclusive are nothing more than everything and everyone must be the same and being, thinking outside the box instills fear and unease within them? WTF is it? Bless the Joe Rogans of the world for changing the playing field.

Bless the Joe Rogans of the world for changing the playing field. We here at the OC forum reside in a "big tent", SK. And though I may not remotely share your opinion of Neil Young's talent, by golly damnation I shall defend to the death your right to hold it. That being said, you make some excellent points. Really, what the hell is it with people who are so threatened by opposing opinions that they feel entitled and even morally obligated to suppress them? When you consider history, there is little that is more dangerous to a society than a groupthink inability to allow the expression of other points of view. In the modern era the most dangerous regimes have been those that do not allow freedom of expression. As a result, they had no moderation or reconsideration when they were clearly progressing (no pun intended) down a dangerous path. My own belief as to why there is such fear and loathing of opposing opinions on the left is that they have convinced themselves that not only are they RIGHT in a practical sense but also that they hold a monopoly on vision and morality. When you come to believe that you possess such unique insight and personally speak for the good of mankind, the obvious conclusion is that those who oppose you are not only WRONG but also evil. Hence you are justified in dispensing with the normal societal proprieties. What's more dangerous: suppression of unorthodox thought and speech or tolerating those ideas, even if weird outliers? In the former you risk unmitigated authoritarianism. In the latter, you rely on collective commonsense to sort out the best solutions while retaining the benefits of freedom. And if society is not intelligent enough to do that, then your nation is screwed, anyway. So Neil Young evidently leans more towards the former than the latter, despite his career of portraying himself as an isolated philosophical rebel raging against the machine. It strikes me as funnier than hell that Spotify responded "O kay, and don't let the door bump yer ass on the way out."........................Luca (By the way, doesn't that picture of Neil Young above sort of remind you of Bull Connor?)

I think Neil also wanted to show what a great Liberal he is by doing this. He over thought his importance, and it backfired big time on him. I heard he mentioned that Spotify amounted to 60% of his streaming income.

When you come to believe that you possess such unique insight and personally speak for the good of mankind, the obvious conclusion is that those who oppose you are not only WRONG but also evil. Hence you are justified in dispensing with the normal societal proprieties. That's certainly a possibility. But perhaps just as likely is this: Many on the left, somewhere deep inside themselves in places they are unwilling to acknowledge, they recognize the fragility of the nonsense they espouse and its inability to stand up to common sense challenges. Or they recognize their own insecurities in being able to defend those positions in any kind of honest back-and-forth. It's no coincidence that the right wants the left to espouse their silly beliefs every chance they get, while the left desperately wants to prevent the right from doing the same. It should be remembered that in 1989, after about a decade of irrelevance, Neil Young returned to prominence with an album entitled "Freedom", a single called "Rockin' The Free World", and going on a Freedom Of Speech concert tour. I guess maybe he's proof that not all people become wiser and more conservative as they get older.
