I got lost and ran into this post from 4 months ago, RSM... my son played in the OC All-Star game years ago with a running back from Edison named Poston. Same guy?) I'll tell you in 4 months... According to his Bio, Matt Poston was an offensive lineman for Huntington Beach high school in 1992. Good guy. I relayed that same story to a friend whose son had gone to Troy High school at the same time as Derrick Coleman did. He said "special" was a great adjective for Coleman, especially when you watched him run track. There would be all these thin skinny guys & then Coleman standing next to them. When the gun would fire, Coleman (who is legally deaf) would explode out of the starting blocks. He said it was amazing to see a guy so big move so fast.

The guy Luca is talking about is Darryl Poston. He was a RB at Edison who made the all-county team in 1999 and 2000.

Man, did you guys hear Ed Orgeron's voice after the game. He makes Bruce Rollinson sound like an opera singer.

Last night's game was officiated by PAC12 officials. Heading that lineup was OCFOA alumnus, Chris Coyte and supporting him at Center Judge was fellow alum, Jim Wharrie. They both were in our association for about 10 years before getting the PAC12 call. They were a mixed crew, all from the PAC12, which is great because apparently, PAC12 officials were in the doghouse for a few years. I was mentored by Jim my rookie and sophomore years and my pre-snap mechanics have never failed my, judgement yea, mechanics, not yet. LOL. Great job by the crew.
OCFOA alumni have excelled in officiating, placing 13 officials in the NCAA, with 8 in the PAC12 and a few in the NFL. Not many associations have a better job placement record. We also have 2 NFL replay officials and 3 NCAA replay officials placed. I think the reason we have so many good officials in high places is because we officiate the best High School football.
Can't wait for season 21 ...

Good stuff Zebra. Everyone who follows sports ought to take a turn at being an official. Changes the paradigm.

I thought Sears would be better than Darnold That kind of logic or assessment or observation or analysis keeps one in cellars in football pools...
