It seems to becoming less and civil. Bi-partisan ANYTHING seems to be a pipe dream anymore.
I remember making a fairly decent effort to build a consensus with guys I know who are left-leaning on the basis of principled reasoning. After the last few years on TOB, reading the different threads here, and the very comments on Twitter and elsewhere, I've lost any real desire to engage them in conversation. It's really just a power struggle any more - defeat the enemy.

I saw this article on American Thinker that posits there are distinct parallels between the Bolshevik revolution in Russia in 1917 and what we see going on in today’s Democrat party. I think it has some parallels to what you’re talking about as well: I found those last two sentences particularly relevant to what you’re talking about.

Fast forward 18 months.
I thought it might be bad back then, but never really considered it to get this bad between the 2 political sides.
How much longer before we get some armed skirmishes, and where would they take place?

You're the one who says he can't talk to the other side...why are you blaming anyone else for your feelings?

So that's your excuse? You're in some sort of spiritual war so your view of reality is affected?

Yep... I’ve been saying that for years. and we have one of evil’s unwitting sycophants right here with us. ROFL. Yeah, years ago I worked with a guy who claimed he was a deacon in his church. We got along fine but he was very concerned about the fact that I was gay and allowed that I was possessed by a demon. This didn't have any negative effects on the job, but I did have fun with his delusions. One day he was sitting with another employee in the break room going over things in the Bible when the other employee asked him where in the Bible they'd find the passage where Jesus talks about "blessing the peacemakers". My deacon friend looked a bit confused and began to flip through his Bible not knowing where to look. Feeling a bit of mischief I waited for a bit to let him stew and then just before I left the room I turned to him and suggested he try Psalms 23...the look on his face when he turned to that passage was priceless. Too bad your delusions aren't as amusing...just sad and pathetic. Perhaps you should try Psalms 23...it's quite comforting.

God chose Moses to lead the Hebrews out of Egypt before Moses was born. Then after 40 years of the Hebrews walking through the desert God told Moses his job was done and he could not enter the promised land. Gods ways are not our ways. So maybe we get Joe Binden and the Democrats in the White House the next four years. Lets see what happens to the economy, price of gas and food. Will we see our troops in harms way again? The nation and schools shut down for months or all year? Will US companies send it's manufacturing back to China?
I see a huge battle coming in the Democrat party. Of all the people talked about for the "Binden transition team" I don't see any young progressives on the list. Old people from the DNC binder, President Obama staff members and mega rich from technology companies. I think President Donald J Trump had built a good foundation with all the judges and we saw huge gains in non-white working class votes. The GOP had a very good election and now we need to build on that.

Yep... I’ve been saying that for years. I hadn't considered it to be on a good v evil spiritual level in the past, but more of a differing of ideologies, some of which I could agree with. I wouldn't put the entire left into the evil bucket of course, but there are certain factions that I can't stand at all. Are you of the same mindset, or are you putting them all in that bucket?

Good point, and one that must be clarified: One of the lesser known endeavors in studying Spiritual matters (in the religion area) is making oneself aware of how demons and their domains operate. No, I do not pile all who differ from me (specifically those on the left) into the evil bucket. And, in fact, every one of us fields evil thoughts from time to time (into which process I’m happy to delve upon request, but won’t bore you now). i differentiate those who make bad (some would call “evil”) choices from those I believe chronically listen to the evil spirits surrounding us. so, in my opinion, Susan Collins from Maine is not evil so much as just making bad choices, but Nancy Pelosi has effectively prostrated herself at the feet of evil... again, just my opinions based on my observations of them.

DNC member suggesting "de-programming" Trump supporters. This won't end well--for the Left.
