Sondheimer makes the same mistake that so many do when making a list like this -- he populates it with athletes who went on to have great collegiate, pro and Olympic careers, rather than with what they may have done in high school. If Tiger Woods is the 13th best high school athlete in the past 45 years, then I must be 14th.

If Tiger Woods is the 13th best high school athlete in the past 45 years, then I must be 14th. A fair observation. Perhaps a better (or, at least, more interesting) list might be the best HS athletes who didn't go on to great success beyond high school? |
