With the number one and two teams in the nation, it is one of those "on any Sunday" games. I can't imagine it being a runaway game. I assume Bosco is favored by one point (make it 1.5), right?

When I went to Kennedy, we had a great QB and defense. But that was a long time ago. I'll take Kennedy and the points. That will be my POW. What year was that Bill? Back in the day when CDM had some good teams I remember having to go play Kennedy and they would outsize us like no other team, it usually equated to victory for the "Fighting Iris". Yet my fondest memory regarding John F. Kennedy High School was delivering us guys the best TaTa's in Orange County.... I remember wrestling against a DE the size of TA, except more muscle. That was crazy. It was before that issue.

What? No Empire League fans, you say? Remember when the Register board had a humungous Thread about the Empire League that had something like 135 pages or so? Did none of them migrate over here? I believe Sixth Man has/had ties to Cypress? And now we find out Billb is a Kennedy Fighting Irishman. And don't the student athletes from the Empire League deserve a little attention and applause for their efforts also? Elitists!...sheesh. Well Prof... I'm originally an Empire league guy as well with roots at Cypress. And you're going way back with my former home reference of that empire league thread that I spent close to 100% of my time in. Talk about a trip down memory lane! That said, even though it won't count in the standings here, I like MD over Bosco. Yeah, I had no horse in the Empire League, but I was hugely impressed by the spirit in that thread, and I believe I posted that, in that thread. I thought it was refreshing that those fans were just as excited about their teams, as the D1 guys were about ours. |

Pretty much had multiple guys from each of the Empire schools banter things about, and it was all pretty positive spirited. Weren't you Lionhunter back then? |

p.s. Bosco vs. MD: the football players at Servite seem to think Bosco will win handily but I'm not so sure. They certainly are due in this series; every third year seems to be the pattern (2013, 2016, 2019). Outside the QB's it seems that many of the players on both sides are fairly young or inexperienced. Mater Dei has pulled out better quality wins so far (Bishop Gorman, Centennial) but beating JSerra by only 8 points was a surprise. Jason Negro has puts all of his transfers--err, eggs--into this year's basket, so I'll give the Braves the edge.

Bosco has the talent. Mater Dei defense will challenge that talent. Mater Dei has a better quarterback, by far in my opinion. Since Money left the offense doesn't seem as imaginative. I'll bet they split games so I'll say Bosco in this one, Mater Dei in the final.
