I suspect there's more to this, but this surprises me. If they scored 4 more points they finish 8-4. Program foundation a lot more sound than it was a few years ago.
Do they already have the replacement lined up?

There's got to be a LOT more to this one.

Makes me wonder if the replacement is a truly elite hire that will attract talent (Logan?). Team next year should be pretty good based on returning talent, therefore the timing of the change is surprising.

Bosco will be all over anyone that's good.
Seems like they were more about culture than talent.

I was surprised at the announced departure of JSerra's coach, especially considering they were probably the most improved team in the Trinity League. They made the D1 quarterfinals after competing in D2 last year.
"Parting ways" is corporate-speak for getting fired; same with Troy Thomas--all I can say is that this wasn't his decision, and it was not about this year's record.

NO ONE in the Trinity League can--or is willing to--get on par with Mater Dei and St. John Bosco. At this point the best the other four teams can do is compete for bragging rights among each other, and to be able to compete and beat the top public schools in OC. That's do-able. It seems to me that JSerra and Santa Margarita will always be limited in their talent pool simply by geography. Mater Dei's player talent is out of place in Santa Ana. Anything even approaching that would be even further out of place in South Orange County.
