This is not a criticism of the kid; just genuinely curious and hoping for MDDad's perspective: what happened? One of the best QBs in HSFB in recent years. Can't seem to stick anywhere.

Credo, I just have a couple of observations:
Daniels was an incredible high school quarterback, one of the two or three best I've ever seen. But he is an above average to decent college quarterback in a game that has moved to value mobility.
At USC he lost his starting job to Kedon Slovis when he got hurt. Rather than compete to win it back, he transfered to Georgia.
At Georgia he lost his starting job to Stetson Bennett. Rather than compete to win it back, he transfered to West Virginia.
At West Virginia he just lost his starting job to Garrett Greene. Rather than compete to win it back, he has chosen to transfer again.
I think he's getting some bad advice on what it means to be a man and stick to your commitments, even when the going gets tough.

My first hand observations of JT at a passing tourney at Los Al his final HS year didn't shine a bright light on his character either - especially when you compare to Bryce Young who was playing for Cathedral that tourney. To your point, watching JT drop absolute dimes to Amon-Ra was just wild.

There are many tangibles to be a good to great QB at each level, some have them others don't. It's often not the highest rated, flashy big star that succeeds at the next level.

To your point, watching JT drop absolute dimes to Amon-Ra was just wild. I was wondering about whether his character played a part in his losing so many starting jobs. I wasn't going to go there, because my dislike for a Monarch player would hardly be taken seriously, (although there are some I liked). And, I should admit, my opinion of JT is based entirely on one single episode...a post-game interview after a win over Servite. He was far from gracious after his win, and I'll leave it at that.

It’s a lot easier in retrospect to see what some of these kids were lacking. With DJ, I think it was his difficulty reading and reacting quickly enough, Because he sure as hell had the arm. You don’t have to react so fast in high school, especially when you have five D1 offensive O linemen. But when you get to the big leagues and everybody’s quick and fast the flaw becomes obvious.
With Johnny Stanton I thought he had everything but in retrospect he didn’t have the accuracy. Which is why he was a fullback in Cleveland……….Luca

watched DJ Ungalelei at SJB vs. JSerra (game SJB won by 7 points). Could see that if you were able to pressure him he got happy feet and panicked a little bit. Got exposed at Clemson.

4 years ago I told some customers (who were based in Tuscaloosa)- one who played for Bear Bryant- that Bryce Young was going to be one of their all-time greats. I suspect these guys have heard it before (eyeballs rolling)-at last year's trade show I told them "see, I told you so"...they laughed...

WRs can run multi move routes, are rarely doubled, RBs don't get touched within 3 yds of the LOS, Q can eat a ham sandwich waiting for someone to come open, etc. It's not reality at the next level.

. Can't seem to stick anywhere. On a more practical level, he’s going to have a very busy year when his class reunions come up
