Buzz Aldrin: Apollo 11's happiest surviving STUD

Has to be that baggie of space dust he put in his pocket in which he continues to sprinkle on his rocket...... 

This story is about eight or nine years old, but it serves to illustrate the sense of humor of the man.

I have a good friend who flew for the Marine Corps for almost two decades. When he retired, he got a job as a pilot for United Airlines. One day about eight years ago he was flying a 737 into Chicago's O'Hare airport in the dead of winter and it was a very choppy ride. He did not know that Buzz Aldrin was sitting in Seat 3A (I think). During one of the drink/snack runs by the flight attendants, he introduced himself to the stewardess and said, "I'm sure your captain is a very good pilot. But you might tell him who's sitting in Seat 3A on this flight, and I'm always ready and willing to help him land this thing." Remember, he was about 85 years old at the time, but still sharp enough to get a laugh. At least Dwight thought he was joking, and couldn't wait to meet the legend when the flight was over.
