What happened to all the Haiti news. MSM moves on to the new thing so fast. What happened in Haiti didn't involve enough LGBTQ news to interest anyone. And Haitians have a history of using the wrong pronouns. So the hell with them. That's true. Everyone there is referred to as "mahn". It's very insensitive and has no place in decent mainstream media. |

As to the future of Haiti, I think we can look at Somalia, or any other gang led country,to see what's next there.

Most likely, but the concern is that Haiti is pretty close to us as opposed to Somalia and Yemen and all the other adherents of Al Caponeism.
I used to be a bit more idealistic but given our nation building fiascoes of the last several decades I’ve become less and less concerned about human rights violations in tribal countries halfway around the world. We have probably all heard of what I think is called the Saint Francis prayer: Lord, give me the strength to change what I can, the patience to accept what I cannot, and the wisdom to know the difference”. Something like that.
What worries me is that there are God knows how many hundreds of thousands of Haitians who are now looking north and thinking the US is looking pretty good right now. The Dominican republic can put up a few walls and stop a wave of unwanted migrants from next door, but a continent and ocean away we likely won’t be able to stop people from flooding in from the south……….Luca
