Well firstly thankyouberrymuch. Secondly I'm not totally certain. I think I did a search, or clicked on Current Events in the main ProBoards page, fooling around. And I'm here. This place is a conservative board? What part of the country mainly? Mainly Orange County, California... but I’m in Illinois. What part of Illinois? Central or northern? Fighting Illinis? I spent some time in Central right around the campus in Champaign/Urbana. Illini country for sure.

What's censorship like here? I like to say fuck sometimes.
Ok, that's promising. A little trepidation though in how hard it was to get in here. Why the "approval" process? What does that do?
Welcome, bostondave!

But then again that was 30 years ago. Well, upwards of 150,000 people now, but still surrounded by feed corn (and, alternate years, soy beans), still flat, still nothing to slow the wind: We call it “the land of horizontal snow.” Although not so much snow anymore.

Damn you refreshed me. Two inches of snow built up to 3 foot drifts whereever there was a wind break. Having to almost bend over double to walk. I remember it getting so cold no one's car would start on the entire street. We had one or two guys who went down the line giving everyone jumps. Man o man. Memories. Mostly not pleasant ones.
And oh yeah, paradoxically, it got wet and muggy as hell too. I remember wondering how one place could get so goddamn cold and get so damn hot and muggy also. In the NE we have damp weather. A damp cold and a damp hot. But Central Illinois I'm sure was windier and might have beat us in the muggies a time or two.

Why the "approval" process? What does that do? Damn Admin guy is a control freak, and wants people to jump through hoops as an homage before being allowed to post here...I mean heah.

Not sure why I did it. I usually pass such places by. They don't indicate anything like an open forum initially because of that and that scares me off right away.

Truth be known, we pretty much police ourselves here, so it acts like a bit of a buffer to keep most of the knuckleheads out. Ever been to Carmen's in the North End? Visited once, and haven't found a bolognese like it anywhere. Bummed to hear they closed down.
