Hello All, Thank you all for the warm welcome and thank you ProfessorFate for the kind words regarding my site. As the Professor stated, I am a Servite Alumnus, class of 79. Played football but mostly rode the pine. Love politics (grew up in a union Democrat house but flipped and voted for Reagan by 18), Theology (not an expert) and Sports, mostly college football (Notre Dame all the way!) and High School football. I am an INTP if you buy the Myers-Briggs thing. Looking forward to the banter! An official welcome, Reach... surely a Notre Dame aficionado will know the name John Huarte. The Huarte family lived in the spanish colonial house right next door, on the east side of St. Anthony Claret Church on La Palma... my family was the next house East of them. I didn’t know John well, but recently I got a wild hair and looked him up. We had a good conversation. i taught Myers Briggs as a leadership tool for a decade at my employers behest... I’m an INTJ. Davidsf - If one doesn't know who John Huarte is, they are NOT a Notre Dame fan. That being said, I never knew they lived next door to St. Anthony Claret! St. Anthony Claret was our parish! INTJ? So you probably grew up playing RISK?

Is that anything like LGBT?....................Luca Luca - Yes but we're more analytical when it comes to trigger warnings.

But we don't speak of him much anymore.

Credo - I am big on Trump too, but didn't start out that way. I was a Ted Cruz guy. I didn't trust Trump, but he has far exceed my expatiation! My brother (Servite 77) was a Trump guy from the get-go. I love eating crow! That makes two of us. I actually donated to the Ted Cruz campaign and disliked how Trump treated him, but I came around pretty quickly to the Trump Train.

The Huartes owned the land and sold it to the Church to build St. Anthony's. I grew up on the first street on the other side of St. Anthony's. Welcome!

Welcome! I was two years behind you, class of 81. I didn't know many guys from your year, most of the guys I hung out with had either very older brothers or younger brothers. If you give me your initials, I'll look you up in the 79 yearbook Thanks RSM. MW - Last page of the seniors. Far right, under the car. Glasses. I remember your face, but don't know why. Ironically, I do know the guy whose picture proceeds yours and the guy whose picture follows yours. Tim Wiseman's sister Nancy (class of 75 Connelly) was friends with my middle sister during high school. The other guy, Larry Zavala, was at St Phillips when I was there in 1st thru 4th grades. One day when I was in 4th grade, he and I got into an argument about something during recess. Being older and bigger than me, I didn't think I could get away with hitting him, so I tried to tackle him. He moved to the side, I hit my head on the open classroom door, he grabbed me & we both fell to the ground. A nun came by, picked us both up by the collar and as she went to say something, she looked at me & her eyes got real big. She suddenly started wailing away on Larry and told me to go to the nurses office. About that time, I feel something dripping down my face, touched it and found it was blood. The door had split my head open (12 stitches) and being Irish, i was bleeding like a stuck pig. The nun thought Larry had done that to me & took it out on him. I also knew Brendan Kertin from your class, they were family friends & I ended up working with his brother Kevin for a few years. I'm on page 123, P.B., the one below Mike Beuerlein (Steves older brother).

I'm on page 123, P.B., the one below Mike Beuerlein (Steves older brother). OMGosh! I am so glad I joined this forum! This is crazy! I do remember you! But I don't remember Mike Beuerlein (how is that possible?) I didn't know Steve had an older brother. Wow! I remember all the talk when Steve showed up. Everyone was saying "this freshman QB is so good!" When you mentioned Brendan Kertin and his brother Kevin, did you mean Brendan Devlin, and his brother Kevin? I knew them. Many Irish back in the day. Maybe just an Irish coincidence??? I have Irish blood to, and Scots-Irish, and English, and Scandinavian. But, ironically, when I was young, everyone thought I was either Italian or Mexican. I was even called Mexican slurs growing up! No kidding. Regarding Larry, I really didn't know him in high school, but when Facebook came along (2008, before I personally banned it), he started chatting with me and my wife. I know he plays music, but that's all I know. Thanks for sharing! Credo!

Side note on Mike Beuerlein, he has been (or was) the head of the lifeguard unit for Huntington Beach for decades. Whenever there was an issue on HB beaches and the local news would interview someone about it, it would be Mike.
Didn't know the Devlins, Mrs. Kertin and my mom knew each other because of both having so many kids going through parochjial school at the same time.

What's censorship like here? I like to say fuck sometimes.
Ok, that's promising. A little trepidation though in how hard it was to get in here. Why the "approval" process? What does that do?

Welcome aboard, bostondave! How'd you find us? Well firstly thankyouberrymuch. Secondly I'm not totally certain. I think I did a search, or clicked on Current Events in the main ProBoards page, fooling around. And I'm here. This place is a conservative board? What part of the country mainly?

Mainly Orange County, California... but I’m in Illinois.
