If we're going down the plant road, should probably stay in the edible herbs genre. How does basil sound? Basil makes me think of Fawlty Towers. For the record, I have never eaten anyone named Herb or Basil. |

Number of posts. I thought sage was cool. Not sure what's after sage though Since when is being called a bushy plant cool? However, since we are going that direction, I'd say the next designation should be fern face. I only use that term to disrespect someone with whom I disagree... |

Please excuse if I've already done so, but I wanted to thank you all again for your contributions to this forum. It's far exceeded any expectations I had, and fills a void for me of adult conversations on a much wider variety of topics than I had anticipated. The moderating of this is pretty much non-existent, save for a couple new threads that spawned as off-shoots of some very good dialogue. Frankly, this would be an example of the "limited government" I envision as a possibility...or is that a pipe dream?

Pipe dream.... we are too vast a country now of idea, ideology and SENSITIVITY! Really, everytime a liberal talks socialism working in Scandinavia I ask them the one thing about those countries that is unique....., assimilation to a common idea..... based on trust and respect for those whom think and act as you do. It is this that I believe limited, smaller or local governing is best. It is why I agonize overtime I hear a liberal talk about doing away with the electoral college or that we are a democracy..... ARGH!

The irony is that assimilation is not being taught in schools. Instead of a melting pot, kids are being taught we're a mixed salad with each person retaining his foreign identity.

Since TOB, I’ve been involved in a few other boards and have accumulated a small cadre of fellow travelers from all over the U.S. and, in fact, the world.
Turns out these folks are looking for new digs because the last one they had crashed and burned when one of them turned out to be a predator...
I’ve told them about this place, but I don’t know how excited they’ll be to join given our common interest in OC.
However, if you do start seeing unfamiliar names, good chance they are friends of mine... and most of them will know me as my screen name here.

While it's true we've got an OC Connection (like that one, Luca?), other than a few of the Sports threads, none of the stuff on the political side is OC related.
We might be seeing our favorite sports official from over there in these parts pretty soon.
I'm sure we can figure out pretty quickly who can, and can not fit in here. If it gets too unwieldy, I think we can exclude visitors and go invitation only.
