She (Mazie Hirono) is simply frightening and her actions over the past year have elevated her to the top of my most despised politician list, a list that usually has the likes of Pelosi and Waters at the top is now occupied by this woman and Adam Schiff.

I'm off-topic here, but after watching her antics right after the Rodney King verdict in the documentary LA 92, Maxine Waters still has to be one of the most despised politicians. Actually...I think we're going to have to start a new thread so as not to hi-jack this one.

I'll stick with a few Republicans to start: Mitt Romney, John Kasich, and the late John McCain.

Thnx Bick........., I think this will fair well as an ongoing conversation as so many of our politicians today are out their trying to take the title "MOST DESPISED"! I agree on Mad Maxine yet the reason I have replaced her as I see her now as someone whom most just discount outside her district as her cries of wolf have made her shrieks less of an impact. It pains me to see the representative of Hawaii ( a place I can't live without! ) lead the island and state down this path of ignorance and in turn "reverse" hate. Her comments against men are simply outlandish and she put eight grade boys on the hot seat the other day in discussing or preaching to them about abortion rights.

Honorable mention would have to include Jerry Nadler, Richard Blumenthal, Eric Swalwell, and of course, Chuck Schumer. Among those running for President have to include Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, and Beto.

Guys, in a thread about the most despised politicians in either party, it makes no sense to name everybody. Let's try to pare it down, OK?

What's the problem with Mitt Romney?..................Luca My opinion is, Mitt couldn’t make it into the White House so, now, has nothing but criticism for the Republican who did. Now that he is not running in a national election, he has to grab the attention by other means. I did not like him as a candidate any more than I liked Trump as a candidate, but Romney is out of gas. as far as despicable politicians, my current home state, I.linlis, is chock full of ‘em, starting with governor J.B. Pritzker who, I assume, will be next to join other Illinois Governors in prison. Followed by our state House speaker, Michael Madigan who creates taxes for the state and, then, gets profits from his law firm up near Chicago that helps companies avoid them. Wuss Toady Award goes to John Cullertson, president of our senate who must be getting or giving oral sex to Madigan because Cullertson only does what Madigan tells him to do. In your state, I’ve lost track of who’s who, but two despicable characters have to be Moonbeam Brown who has raped your state for, now, six pensions from the various offices he’s held. Followed closely by Gavin Newsome, a fool if ever there was one. Nationally, the list is much too long. Of course Feinstein, Waters, Booker, AOC, Thalia, Ohmar, Pelosi, and Schumer (and our own two Senators, Durbin and Duckworth) top that list, but are by no means exclusive on it.

I think maybe a politician who has run out of gas is still better than one who is 100% full of it.

You're too hard on Gavin. With his chiseled features, slicked back hair and trophy wife, he's the perfect guy to be governor...in the movies. And hell, he went to El Salvador and visited one of their churches on a "fact finding mission", so he's much more qualified to govern a state now.

I can't believe nobody has named Kamala Harris. She has single-handedly raised the bar for just how high a prostitute can go.

But what was the problem was to begin with? You didn't like him even as a candidate for what reason? I'm not sure what it means to say that someone is "out of gas" or why that would be a cause for disapproval...................................Luca

For me, Romney was a fake as a politician. From what I read, he is a genuinely good man and an honest businessman, but when he puts on his politician hat, he became a used car salesman, albeit one with no spine.
In 2008, as the Republican primaries began, I thought to myself "Anyone but McCain & we are golden". In 2012, I made the same assessment of the candidates and concluded "As long as it is anyone but Romney". By the time 2016 rolled around, i was so ticked off with Republican establishment types & those who promote them that I said "Give me Rubio, give me Cruz, heck I'll even take Donald Trump, just stop falling for these mealy mouthed shysters".
