At first I found him abhorrent. He is a true globalist and I get it from his big business mind... more growth is globalism to the like minds of Schultz. I also got of Starbucks a couple years ago when they decided to play the PC game and politics with their business. Yet when he slammed to leftists on their silly GND and their ideas on taxes and business and wealth I cheered a bit. OK, did I finally find a Libertarian? Conservative fiscally, pro business, less taxes, free markets yet soft on many social issues? I just wasn't sold. His entering as an Independent of course would be a Trump Bump no doubt unless he could then again actually bump Trump! I do know this, if I were a Starbucks (SBUX) stockholder I would be nervous as heck. Once you throw yourself into politics especially at this level you will wind up with 50% liking you and 50% hating you. That is not a good thing for his company. Boycott Starbucks would be on a large scale and even if he did win everybody ends up hating you even more!

Schultz is no longer CEO or chairman of Starbucks. What he does and how it's received should have little effect on the company or its stock price.

MDDad is right, Schultz is the “former” CEO of Starbucks. however, he was the CEO when he proclaimed Christians who do not support gay marriage should stop spending their money at Starbucks” so I took him at his word and have never been back. Since then, though, I did buy a $15 coffee grinder and a $10 1# bag of coffee beans from which I make about a hundred cups of coffee, for way WAY less than those $8 concoctions at Starbucks. likewise, I could not vote for him as a candidate, but I would like to see him run as an independent.

he will be forever associated with Starbucks.... rarely see his name in print without it following. America and the American mind is led by optics. Funny davidsf all that stuff he kept dribbling politically has had me rarely or if ever go back.

This entire thing is going to get real interesting. What a contrast to last time around when the Republican Party fielded what.... 16 candidates all over the map? My hunch is this time around is that it gets way more ugly in a sense as those on the left are that much more vicious. The only cover they will have is if the media each night softens the optics of the insanity. Get your popcorn....

2016 proved that when you have a huge field of candidates, it's possible that the worst of them will get the nomination. I'm hoping for a fast-track constitutional amendment that would allow Alexandria to head the Democratic ticket.

I want an ideological showdown, Capitalism vs Socialism, Big Government vs Less Government, Globalism vs Nationalism, Individual vs Collective. I hope a far left candidate gets in.....

Whether or not one believes the republicans and/or use voter fraud to alter the outcome of elections in the US, I am relatively certain the democrats will consider ALL means to defeat Trump.

Geez. For having the audacity to run against, and ultimately have the nomination stolen by the queen?

That smackdown would never fly with the Democrats because it's all white. You have to add someone black (Kamala Harris), someone Hispanic (AOC with makeup to make her look old enough), and someone Native American (who else but Liz Warren). Then you'd have a politically correct cage match.
By the way, Trump's speech writers have to be hoping for a Sanders-Warren ticket. Then they could cleverly call the campaign a Sand War.
