Los Al had a 2021 QB xfer to Cypress before last season. He was behind the SR starter, and had a freshman enroll with a few D1 offers already on his resume. If he stays, he likely never sees the field. Because he xferd, he started and led his team to the championship game. Hard to see how this generates the widespread handwringing by Sondheimer et al. Hard to see how that applies to, say, Bryce Young.

I can't speak for Bryce, but he wouldn't have been a national POY staying at Cathedral.
From what I've seen from the cathedral players over the past few years, it's not much of a surprise why he would want to leave.

From what I've seen from the cathedral players over the past few years, it's not much of a surprise why he would want to leave. As a sophomore, he started at Cathedral, who finished 10-2 and 5-0 in league, due in no small part to his 41 TDs and 3 INTs, his 70% pass completion rate, his 3431 passing yards, and his 8 rushing TDs. His QB rating was 130.6. Two more years of that, and I kind of think SOMEONE would have noticed.

He could have had a PERFECT QBR there. But I don't see him in the national picture if he stays at Cathedral. Regional guy...yes.

private schools now have an unfair advantage over public schools. For those public schools willing to do so, For the record, there are some, one I know of that has turned down 5 QB transfer requests since December, one of which landed at a competitor on their 2020 schedule. there are many ways around that unfair advantage and bring in kids from outside their districts. Glad we finally got you to admit to the "THAT UNFAIR" advantage.

Other than meeting the CIF eligibility criteria, what criteria does the school hold them to? What makes Raleek Brown who is transferring from Stockton and plays a position that we don't have a current deficiency different from the 5 QBs that were denied (and is a position that is a massive question mark for next season).

Ross Maseuli from JSerra transferring to MD. Didn't play a down last year because he couldn't get cleared. Phenomenal linemen. Surprised he didn't choose Bosco since he was close to going there last year.
I guess Roll will take on senior trinity league transfers, huh?
Love this kid.

I think you meant to ask those questions of SK80. Confused since I replied to what you wrote? But okay if Sk80 can answer that is equally good.

You can't say there aren't standards.

Outofstate, I'll answer your question via private message. The misinformation that's regularly presented here as fact, humor or sarcasm is getting a little off-putting.

4-stars and 5-stars; all others are politely declined admission. You can't say there aren't standards. Credo, with all due respect: (1) The young man in question is not a 4-star or 5-star player. (2) He has three years of Catholic high school education, just as Blaze McKibben did. So please don't pretend Servite would not have accepted him if he had knocked on their door instead of ours. (3) And please, enough with the standards. It was only a few years ago that a touted athlete from a public school tried to transfer to Mater Dei with a 0.16 GPA (i.e. five F's and one D). He was declined. Imagine our surprise less than two weeks later when he was enrolled at Servite and a member of their football team. I guess the school's vaunted rigorous academic standards are somewhat flexible.
