Correct. Now high school football is the same crap. That's what was unique and different about high school football. That's what was endearing about it. The legitimate traditional school rivalries, the honest competition, the integrity and the value it had for 15-18-year-old kids playing for their school.
I can't believe you don't see any difference or significance in that..............Luca

That is a peculiar choice of a cartoon character, isn't it?

The Brown kid is confirmed www.ocregister.com/2020/01/13/running-back-prospect-transfers-to-mater-dei/And Miller Moss is apparently a quarterback with 1 year of high school eligibility left with an offer from USC. To each his own, but I cannot understand why you guys give a flying fornication about HSFB any longer. It's not a high school game and don't kid yourselves. It's a club program won annually by the most effective networking/admissions departments with cash giveaways in the form of reduced/negligible tuition...........................Luca Not for the vast majority, Luca. And despite the few kids that do Nivea from school to school, they are still after all, just kids.

But true for the Southern Section parochial and large public schools that once competed honestly on a level field. Ignoring the ethical issues, that still involves a large number of schools and disadvantaged players. HSFB players have always been "just kids". I don't see what point is made by pointing out that they still are just kids. The ethical course would have been to allow them to remain just kids without having to deal with all this tawdry subterfuge. I looked it up. Nivea is a facial moisturizer. I doubt it plays much of a role in this problem.............................Luca

Wait... I thought the ingredients in Nivea were what AOC was wanting to impeach Trump for. I don't think players use it, so therefore it all must be OK.

Luca, I don't disagree that a few schools have had more than their fair share of xfers, but it seems the expanded boundaries of certain publics and all the parochial schools has been in existence for as long as I can remember.
Los Al in its heyday, was pulling in kids from everywhere it seems. Same with Mission Viejo, and to a lesser extent La Habra and Edison with district wide enrollment boundaries.
If all schools had to work with kids who lived within consistent geographic school boundaries, the Trinity league would likely be known for its prowess in futbol...not football.
Point being, these inequities have always been in existence. Now with less constraints being placed on xfers, shouldn't that, in theory, level the playing field and reward the programs that have improved themselves to the point of being more attractive?

Always? Was there not a time when you had to play in your school district? In theory level the playing field? I suppose if all schools adhered to the "come one come all" or "only come if your real special"!

For as long as I can remember, those schools I mentioned have always had the advantage of either district wide, or pretty much open enrollment, over geographically bound public schools.
I grew up in Lakewood, and went to St Anthony's in DT Long Beach in 9th grade in the early 70's, so yeah, as long as I can recall this has been the case.

The lack of boundaries for Catholic schools back in the day, was offset by the fact that only Catholics could go there. There were an awful lot of pretty darn good ballplayers who were not Catholics, and therefore couldn't go to Catholic schools. Since that is no longer the case, private schools now have an unfair advantage over public schools.

private schools now have an unfair advantage over public schools. For those public schools willing to do so, there are many ways around that unfair advantage and bring in kids from outside their districts. Schools like Edison, Long Beach Poly, Corona Centennial and Mission Viejo have done so for two decades. Plus the publics are all Bernie Sanders schools (i.e. tuition-free).

Los Al had a 2021 QB xfer to Cypress before last season. He was behind the SR starter, and had a freshman enroll with a few D1 offers already on his resume.
If he stays, he likely never sees the field. Because he xferd, he started and led his team to the championship game.
Hard to see how this generates the widespread handwringing by Sondheimer et al.
