As those guys xfer in to MD and Bosco, others there who play the same positions and were waiting behind last year's starters will continue to xfer out. Then those kids displace others at the next school, and so on and so forth. I can see how that could change the culture at a number of schools as the dominoes fall. So how many are you taking BICK!?!

I posted the 4 that came our way from the different schools. At least one lives already lived in the district and was commuting. Same thing happened last year, and the year before.

Since the family you mention as already living in the district currently lives exactly one mile from Los Alamitos High School, hopefully they've been informed they need to move if the young man hopes to play the first five games next year as a junior

I'm sure whatever the rule is would be dealt with.
Seems odd that someone already living in a public school district, would be required to move to go to the school...in that district.
But a kid who lives nowhere near a parochial school can commute wherever... WHENEVER. What a bunch of complete horseshit.
Wouldn't really surprise me though. Sounds like a typical well thought through process.

You have to move or you sit for five games. The family under discussion already lives in an apartment in the Los Alamitos HS enrollment area. All they have to do is move into another unit in the same complex and they're good to go. If they had transferred to a private school, they would have to move out of the Los Alamitos HS enrollment area and into the enrollment area of another public high school. What a bunch of complete horseshit, right?

No, but that's how the public schools can do it if they want?

It IS complete horseshit to require a family to bear the expense of moving within the same district just to check a box, and I don't give a damn of it's public or private. How can you defend this?

If that really is the price, hopefully the word gets passed around to anyone considering attending a parochial school. If for whatever reason you can no longer afford to go to a private school, you get the added benefit of having to move in order to go to the school in the district you live in. No question this is California.

I don't defend it. The Blue Book is full of rules that are counterintuitive and make no sense, but they have been adopted nonetheless. What I try to correct is the constant barrage of criticism that insists transfer rules are different for publics and privates, and that they greatly favor the privates. Here's another example. A family lives next door to Mater Dei and their freshman son attends Santa Ana or SA Valley as a freshman. He transfers to Mater Dei as a sophomore, but despite living right next door, the family not only has to move, but they have to move out of their Santa Ana HS enrollment area. How does that make sense or favor the privates?

Looks like JSerra is going to have a pretty tough go of it next season, seeing how many kids have transferred out--and all this despite no change at the HC position.
Haven't heard anything about the QB positions at Mater Dei and Bosco.
