When you accept mercenary parents to benefit the program, you risk getting kicked in the balls when they leave. We learned that the hard way, so we don't do it any more. Bosco and Sierra Canyon seem to still be a long way from learning the lesson.

I'll ask the same question I asked when the Los Al QB transferred to Newport Harbor........ Why Newport? A lot of bigger local high school teams out there. Los Al, Mission or San Clemente are just 3.

If you did not hear, listen, read or watch what transpired yesterday, then I'd like to point out "Loyalty", something that is taught from a young age. It's something we pride our program on. By stepping onto that field @ "The Farm" yesterday, Garbers gave up his redshirt status, or basically and entire year/season of eligibility. In todays environment, that was above and beyond even in my eyes. Even I would have been a lesser man I suppose as I would have pushed the portal button after all that has transpired in Westwood this year. I can say this, if Ethan had not grown up in CDM Football culture my best bet is he like many, possibly most would have moved on. His comments yesterday were, at some points recently I thought even of quitting to I did not because I wanted to help my team. Will be interesting now going forward on how Chip handles this. |

I think you can play in 4 games before you burn a redshirt. Not sure.

Garbers (for reason undiclosed) did not start or play at QB nor did he take the snaps on PAT's. That was a huge indication he may be opting to keep his redshirt status and not burning a year behind Moore. At Oregon State (Loss) after Moore had thrown 3 INT's, one a pick six in the first half, Kelley should have put Garbers in right then When he didn't make the switch another indicator light went off Garbers was keeping his redshirt option open. All I can say is much transpired in Westwwod that week to have Ethan take the field against Stanford.
