Today my LA Clippers had the nations attention introducing Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. On Fox Sports right now with a follow airing of the 2009 CIF Championship game with Riverside King vs Mater Dei.....
Bick can we pin a NBA and a NFL thread in sports!

Not so fast, my friend. I have a feeling that Alex Caruso, Quinn Cook and Talen Horton–Tucker are all going to have breakout years for the Lakers……………………Luca

I'm a die-hard Lakers fan and attended my first game at the Forum in 1979 when Magic Johnson was a rookie and the Lakers defeated the Seattle Supersonics, who were the defending NBA champs at the time. (The Professor probably goes back to George Mikan....)
That being said, if Kawhi Leonard were to lead the Clippers to the NBA title--one year after doing so in Toronto--it would be one of the greatest accomplishments in sports history.

My first ever Laker game was a few years earlier. Nosebleed seats with my dad. Ending up losing, but what a memory.

I'm a die-hard Lakers fan and attended my first game at the Forum in 1979 when Magic Johnson was a rookie and the Lakers defeated the Seattle Supersonics, who were the defending NBA champs at the time. (The Professor probably goes back to George Mikan....) Not so! West, Baylor, Goodrich! Really Fate...., some Johnny come Latelys here..., My dad used to take me to the Forum to see the Lakers in the late 60's and early 70's before we moved to Newport. We were the nosebleed kinda fans, although now when I visit the "Fabulous" place even the nosebleeds are not that bad in comparison to a Staples Center. I grew up a die-hard Laker Fan, listening at night in bed with my transistor radio and Chick calling the games.... I didn't get to witness any laker playoff games in '72 it was the year we moved down to Newport. Thank God 4 Chick Hearn! My Laker Fandom withered at the exit of my all time favorite Laker and my favorite Laker player at the time. Jerry West and Shaquille O'Neil respectively. Watching the organization allow or force the LOGO and the most DOMINATE players to leave was more than I could take. I had been a LA KINGS season ticket holder at the Forum through the 90's and when they moved to Staples I dumped my seats in protest as they DOUBLE the price. In 2000-2001 I equally attended events at the new arena, Lakers, Clippers and Kings. It was in 2001 I fell in love with the blue collar JV team, bought season tickets two rows from the court and never looked back. Everyone thought I was nuts. I was, its been a brutal path to where they are at now. But what has kept me a die hard is "Laker Fan". My love for the Clippers is driven now by my #%*+ for the Laker Fans. And that was more enforced yet again last night!

Those damned hoodies they've been sporting the past couple of years are hideous.

Greatest NBA dynasty of all-time. My Boston Celtics. I like our team now. We have a small chance to represent the East soon. And there's no more Golden State to dominate, so all bets are off.

I always thought Auerbach was a narcissistic, arrogant turd, even if I liked a lot of the old Celtics players.
I don't think anybody will ever develop a streak like the Celtics in the 60s again. Too many teams, more free agency, the talent is more spread out and with kids now able to join the NBA at 18 or 19 years of age there's a lot of busts in the draft.
There will never be another UCLA, either. All for the better.
Kobe's final game (and especially his last 3 minutes) was the best single athletic performance in a team sport I have ever seen. I still go back to watch it from time to time..............................Luca

The Celtics were special back then. My sense is that Knicks fans feel the same way you do about Red.
But the parquet floor was pretty cool. The Gahden.
