So you think Bick took it as a compliment? Would a hater of eunuchs be guilty of misogyny, or misandry?

The way this thread is going, an outsider would swear we've consumed mass quantities.
So what's your whiskey of choice, SK80?

🎶I like beer, it makes me a jolly good fellow, I like beer, so,estimes,it makes me quite mellow. Whiskeys too strong, Champagne costs too much, The matter is perfectly clear: I sing this refrain, And I hope it explains, As a matter of fact, I like beer.

I know as much about alcohol as I do computers, but you remind me of a story. My daughter drinks less than I do but the family was in Club 33 at Disneyland for lunch 2 weeks ago and she decided to give it a try. Somebody suggested a cocktail for her. She came up to me all excited because she finally found one she liked and said:
"You ought to try this one, Dad. It's called a Raymond Fuzz!!

Besides spelling, you actually need some talent to make that one right.
It's actually kinda cool to see some of these speakeasy bars like the Blind Rabbit open up and focus on those old throwback cocktails. A Sazerac for me to start liking rye.

Wowza. 1 yr anniversary party at casa de SK80. You have a favorite? Usually what ever is in my glass..! Bick, answering your question would equate to looking at a Playboy calendar and asking which one is your favorite month! And looking at my stock I would be choosing from over a decade of girls...., I mean bottles! Ill give you a ballpark (sports analogy becuz we already got booze and babes entered here and what else does a guy (insert your choice of gender, any gender or non gender) need besides booze, babes and ball games! First, I am mostly a domestic whiskey guy, I'm American dammit. Not that I won't turn down a nice scotch but I just like American whiskey. I have some really top notch Japanese whiskeys that I have been gifted. They collect dust! At some point I will dive into the Japanese tasting experience as I take the art seriously and don't approach it casually. If I did I would just be drinking and hanging with Jack & Jimmy B. !! And I do! You can catch me down at Blackies in Newport often enough with my Jim Beam on the rocks with a dash of Grand Marnier and bitters, a sliced orange. Basically an old-fashion. If I am at home and making an old fashion its usually with a rye. Rye has a "rye mash" and has a spicier drier note while Bourbon is a "corn mash" and delivers sweeter notes. So when making an old fashion or any cocktail that you add "sweet", I prefer to start with a rye to balance it. Most corn mashed whiskeys are Bourbon but not all, example Tennessee whiskeys. Tennessee whiskey is double filtered with charcoal giving it a smokier jam. Everyone knows Jack Daniels but when it comes to Tennessee I prefer George Dickle and the Prichard's. Ohhhh that smooth Tennessee whiskey! Back to Bourbon's and Kentucky. (And almost any state now as distilling bourbon has gone national). My favorites are many for many reasons so I'll just name a few, anything Willett especially the estate bottle, Rowan's Creek and the 4 year old rye. Anything Buffalo Trace, anything Heaven Hill which has some of the best daily drinkers in Elijah Craig, Larceny, Evan Williams and Pikesville Rye. Michters and Belle Meade deliver the knock out whiskeys if you are stepping into the $30 - $40 bottle range. And of course if you want to be a real player there is always Pappy Van Winkle, maybe bet a bottle on the CDM vs Los Al game Bick? The proof of a whiskey also dictates what I choose and how I will drink it, high proofs 100 or more or barrel proofs 113 - 125 need to be cut with water or a rock. I think a proof around 90 - 92 is where my sweet spot is. So whats it gonna be tonight...? Let's go Knob Creek Rye and Miss February, she looks like she needs to be kept warm!

...what else does a guy (insert your choice of gender, any gender or non gender) need besides booze, babes and ball games! I have found that guys who regularly indulge in the three B's, booze, babes and ball games, often need a fourth B: Bail.

Thanks a lot SK80! Now I have to go to Confession again. I was just trying to answer your question about which month's playmate was my favorite, but every time I tried, I'd forget what I was trying to decide by the time I hit June. "
