It is interesting to see people attempt to define the intelligence of others, as if it is a black & white issue. For me, Luca is a great example, a highly intelligent person who has struggled with how to post messages on various boards for as long as I have known him...

I cannot goddamn believe this. I crafted this carefully worded response to our colleague, tried to correct it and wound up making a duplicate. So I eliminated 1 of the duplicates by erasing it and putting a simple period so that people would not have to read the same post twice, given that the first time would have been painful enough
So the website keeps the period and discarded the actual post. Yes, I have a computer IQ that almost reaches double figures on a good day.
Here is the damned post as it was supposed to read: ========================================================
Not4u13 (I’m never quite sure when somebody's proper name is not capitalized whether it should be capitalized when it begins a sentence, but I digress)
To paraphrase, “The undefined phrase has an infinite number of interpretations.” I’m not sure what you mean by "that bright". That bright compared to whom? Thomas Jefferson, Rene Descartes, Albert Einstein? Or compared to the President’s political competitors and Chris Matthews’ of the world?
"His total wealth is questionable" is a phrase that can be applied to pretty much any billionaire. In the final analysis he has become very rich through his own efforts. I consider myself reasonably intelligent and would love to have been a billionaire, but I’m not nearly smart enough.
Otherwise, your post seems a bit counterintuitive. You state that "he had enough money to make many different bets and many of those bets failed but enough of them succeeded that he has been able to continuously repeat the pattern”, followed by "proof that he really is not that bright is that he just continues to repeat the same patterns." Well……….. if that pattern has been successful, it would make sense to me that you should continue to repeat it, right?
To you, the fact that he has graduated from the nation’s premier Ivy League business school, made himself a billionaire, written a best selling book, branded his name in real estate as successfully as he has, been successful in the TV industry and made himself POTUS doesn't indicate that he is "that smart." But the fact that he continues to repeat a successful pattern is "proof that he is not that smart." Really?
I dunno, not4you. No offense, but it seems to me that a little less CNN/Rachel Maddow and a little more independent analysis would serve you well...............................
That is an interesting interpretation to say that the Civil War was "rooted in money." Again, that can justifiably said about almost any war, so I’m not certain how insightful it is. When wars are fought over borders, ultimately it is of course about money. When they are fought about access to ports or rivers or rights of way, it is ultimately about money. They are generally not waged over mere principles, though they are often portrayed that way by the involved parties.
I see your point regarding the Civil War and do not disagree entirely. Finances were a driving issue for the wealthy plantation class, but not so much the Southern yeoman. And it was at best a peripheral issue for the North. The Northern motivations were preservation of the world’s only prominent democracy, abolition, and anger over Fort Sumter.
You’re right about the Hamilton musical. Everybody I know who has seen it seems to love it but I have not and detest musicals. I must be wrong, not for the first time……………………….Luca

With all due respect, I really think that "Trump doesn't want to release his tax returns because people will see how weak he is" is wishful thinking in the manner of CNN/MSNBC. Same with "he's a bully" and "not that bright." No one gets to where he's gotten without an impressive combination of wits, patience, grit, and fortitude.
If we want the tax returns of elected officials, how about we have those of Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Waters, plus the other 533 members of the House and Senate who spend out tax money and actually write the laws that apply to us? Let's release all the details on the millions of dollars in taxpayer funds used to settle sexual harassment lawsuits against members of Congress and their staffers.
When that's done, then I'll call on Trump to share his tax returns as well.

Can not the American people see the Democrats game plan... Go, Head Look Backwards! Is there anything they offer looking FORWARD? Again the elected President is in office and whatever building deals he has had over the decades mean SQUAT on a tax return that has had tax consultants, lawyers, and the IRS all review and sign off on. WTF does a past tax return have to do with solving relations with China or North Korea? Does it cause the debate over health care or border security to be hindered? I've never in my life seen a party or group of politicians spend their entire existence going backwards in time to prove a point or have a gotcha moment. It's utterly absurd these Democrats and please let us review Pelosi and Waters past... full time, 24/7, investigation, commission, interrogate, grand jury, indite and so on...... and lets discuss it on the front page of every newspaper and have almost every talking head on TV make accusations hourly.

Fox posted this graphic...and I think had it entirely backwards. POTUS tweets it. Anyone believe he didn't know it was wrong?

"According to a poll from Georgetown University, 58 percent of respondents approved of the president’s handling of the economy. That portion of the graphic was right," Burman said. "However, the graphic also showed that 55 percent of the respondents approve of the president, that number is not correct. The 55 percent number was those who have an unfavorable impression of President Trump.” www.politico.com/story/2019/04/11/fox-business-incorrect-trump-poll-1270245Supposedly his overall job approval in that poll was 41% approve and 55% disapprove.

The Game of Thrones type font sent lefty over the edge on DU. #orangemanbad Yeah, that was my stinkbomb over on TOB. Consider a final parting shot. Despite the valiant efforts of Luca, there's little point in trying to engage those guys. Too much Kool-Aid consumed over the past two-and-a-half years. Long live the New Board!

After Mitt Romney's pearl-clutching and virtue-signaling peeing all over himself over the "dishonesty" of Trump as alleged in the Mueller Report, the Donald turned that shiv right back on the 2012 Loser. I know many don't like this but I find this to be one of Trump's strongest qualities: the punch-back twice as hard.

One of best thing Trump continues to do is to undo the Obama "legacy", most of which had little popular support and so was cobbled together by easily overridden or ignored Executive Orders. What exactly did Obama really accomplish, other than pick at long-healed racial scabs and attempt to lower the economic expectations of United States?

Big PRO. Halfway surprised he's not giving the middle finger. "You start a fight--I'll end it."
