In the following year's set Ryan was in an Astros uniform.

Farewell to a man whose name was synonymous with the 1960s NFL.

Without helmets you could actually figure out who the players were.

These guys just seemed larger than life when I was a kid. Class acts, both.

The two best college basketball centers of all time face off in the pros. The only other two I can think of that rank near them are Patrick Ewing and Hakeem Olajuwon.

I don't know if there are any other hockey fans on this forum, but it's very, very rare that you can get the three greatest players of all time in any one sport together at the same time:

The heading says "Super 70s Sports" but this picture would have to have been 1965 or 66 or 67. They are playing at Lambeau Field in the winter so it was probably pone of those playoff games, maybe even the Ice Bowl in 67. Just off the top of my head that’s Bart Starr at quarterback, left guard’s Fuzzy Thurston, left tackle would be Forrest Gregg and the TE’s first name is Marvin but I can’t remember his last name (Fletcher?). The other guard would have been Jerry Kramer and I think that linebacker’s last name is Howell #52. Can’t see the number on the DL but it might be Jethro Pugh Those really were some excellent games…………………………………Luca

Luca, your memory is pretty good, considering you must have been in your 50's when that game was played.
A little research discovered that TE #81 on the Packers was Marv Fleming. And the RLB #52 on the Cowboys was Dave Edwards. The Cowboys linebacker you're thinking of was Chuck Howley, and he played on the left side.

Ralph Sampson was at least as good as Olajuwon in college...........................Luca

The "Super70s Sports" is a slight misnomer. Many of the posts are from decades other than the 70s and others don't involve sports at all. But it's still a good follow.
Another OL who would join the Cowboys in 1968 was one Blaine Nye, Servite Class of 1964.
