Was watching the Genesis (formerly L.A.) Open this afternoon and thought I would share this great photo of two of the true legends of golf, taken at the 1966 Masters. I'm not old enough to have seen these guys in their prime. but I appreciate the greatness. And the fact that they're both lighting up on the course just adds to the gloriously non-PC ethos of those days.

I first came across the above photo while perusing one of my guilty pleasures, the Super 70s Sports Twitter feed. Not all the posts are about the 70s, nor are all of them about sports, but the combination of photos and the captions attached are pretty damn funny. twitter.com/Super70sSports

Frank Robinson, and now Don Newcombe has passed at age 92. Not too many of the old-time greats still around.

That's one of my favorite feeds, Credo. Love that vintage stuff! Don Drysdale #53 was my favorite player. Ever. And Vin Scully is incomparable. Koufax wasn't too shabby either.

That's one of my favorite feeds, Credo. Love that vintage stuff! Those are the Dodgers I remember. I even had both the Don Drysdale and the Sandy Koufax drinking glasses (after we finished the jelly inside them)...

Ah but did you have the Danny Kaye 45 rpm record "The Dodger Song?"

I got that BEAT. The back story is pretty funny in hindsight with Roseboro buzzing Marichal's ear on the throw back to the mound. That was one helluva rivalry.

I doubt anyone has seen this one of the Bambino. That said, it seems obscene to see it colorized.

Call me old-fashioned but I'll take this action over Harden and Curry and their step-back threes every day of the week....

You know what sucks? Two of the biggest sports stars of my childhood were none other than Bruce Jenner and O.J. Simpson.
Well at least on T.V. we got to enjoy Bill Cosby as America's Dad. Uh, nevermind.....

Is anyone noticing that some of the photos and videos posted on this (and other threads) are no longer visible? I'm logged in but all the posted images on this thread seem to have disappeared. Or is it just my computer of connection?

I can still see them all. Even the one of McHale be-heading Rambis.
