And two of Huarte's grandsons graduated from Servite in the past several years. Excellent kids, both.

You will likely remember John for winning the Heismann Trophy in, I believe, 1966 while at Notre Dame. But one or two of you will recall his less-than-stellar football career quarterbacking the Mater Dei team in the early to mid 60’s. That's an interesting evaluation, Dave. Huarte was 22-2 as a varsity starter, and led his team to the 1960 CIF AA championship. He was All-CIF and L.A. Times All-County as a junior and a senior, and he was All-CIF Player Of The Year and L.A. Times All-County Back Of The Year as a senior. He was All-State Medium Schools Player Of The Year as both a junior and a senior. What would you have considered a stellar career? Sorry, I misspoke. Once he got the starting job, yes, he obviously blossomed. I was recalling his “development” prior to his Junior year. Apologies.

Hockey is clearly racist. Just look at the players and the crowd.

Where have all the personalities gone in Major League Baseball?
Contest: who can name all four of these relievers? (It took me about 10 seconds)

Is the first one Bruce Sutter?
The third one looks like Brett Saberhagen, but he was a starter.
Don't have a clue about the other two.

Most dominating player ever. The Babe Ruth of the NBA. I don't care what era he played in. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
