No, Dave, I don't think she's high at all. Sadly, I suspect it's something much more sinister than being high. She turns 80 in three months. Assuming this video (and more than a few others I've seen of her) isn't edited, I see the inability to recall the words she's looking for, the disjointed grammar and syntax, the halting starts and stops in her sentences and in her train of thought. Luca can speak to this better than I can, because he's a physician and not because he's a geezer, but my opinion is that she's showing all the signs of declining into early dementia. Has been for several years. Put down coward on her resume!

This thread started with a poll in which 11 of us voted on whether or not Trumomwould be impeached. Since he has now almost been impeached (won’t be official until the articles are delivered to the Senate), should we ban all those who said he would not be? Surveys have consequences. Yes, that's correct according to the Dems own lawyer Noah Feldman. Provides at least some measure of objectivity. I agree with those “evangelical leaders.” Christianity Today used to be a valuable publication. But lately, say in the last decade or so, they have become more and more theologically liberal including moving into Politics. I have been arguing with some of these “Liberal Christians” on this very topic and it hurts me to see the depths to which they will sink to make a political point. im not saying one cannot be a liberal and a Christian. Not my point at all... but when Christians argue politics, they should still adhere to Scriptural values.

..if the House never sends the articles, then Trump could say with strong justification that he was never actually impeached.

Pelosi and Democratic leadership have convinced themselves there may be advantage in delaying the formal, ministerial delivery of the impeachment articles — as if Mitch McConnell were in as much a hurry to receive them as Democrats were to conjure them up. The thought is that this latest strategic petulance might pressure Senator McConnell into promising a full-blown trial, including summoning as witnesses top aides of the president whom the House didn’t bother to summon because tangling over privilege issues would have slowed up the works.
So it’s not a joke, but I still have to laugh. When I was a prosecutor negotiating plea deals, I always found the most pathetic defense lawyers were the ones who acted like they were playing with the House money when, in stark reality, it was they who needed something from me. Now here’s Pelosi trying to play hard to get with McConnell who, I imagine, couldn’t care less how long Democrats want to dither.
...even if Pelosi doesn't ship the thing over, the Senate can vote to acquit if it wants, so it's a lose-lose all around for her.
..all that hullabaloo that came out of her as the rushed impeachment vote came about might just have been for nothing. The funereal back suit, the hushed intonations about prayers for the country, the declarations that democracy is at stake, the appeal to "history," the invocations from the Founding Fathers, the orders to Democrats to quit giggling and popping champaign corks and pretend for a few minutes that the whole thing was solemn, humorless affair...was for nothing.
Joke's on Nancy, because if she refuses to ship the thing to the Senate, then the whole impeachment was a joke. And now it looks like she's boxed herself into a corner. I'll help...it doesn't say that at all. As a matter of fact it says very little about impeachment.
Article I, Section 2, Clause 5 provides:
The House of Representatives ... shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.
Article I, Section 3, Clauses 6 and 7 provide:
The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two-thirds of the Members present. Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States; but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.
Article II, Section 2 provides:
[The President] ... shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment.
Article II, Section 4 provides:
The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.
So no..the Constitution makes no mention of how long the House has to deliver the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate after they are approved by the House, but it does imply that the Senate won't have anything to vote on until they do.
