Judging by the majority of comments on this just-released insane decision, Garcetti is going to create a whole batch of new Republican voters in November. The order is illegal and cannot be enforced, and will only turn neighbor against neighbor in Los Angeles.
The "exceptions" he mentions give away the fraudulency of this whole thing. If there is a valid scientific basis for masks protecting people from COVID-19, then why is the mayor allowing small children and those with disabilities to be put at risk?

Well, MDDad, assuming you're not an Angeleno, that order doesn't apply to you, even if you travel to LA I understand, but my comment was directed toward their entire body of work during these times, not any specific order. Nothing AOC does in her district (and I suspect she has literally done nothing in her district) applies to me either, but she can join Gavin and Eric if she can squeeze her head in their with the two of them. |

I'm sure people who do live in L.A. could even argue that they are not an "Angeleno", because that is not a legal term. it is a stupid nickname that stupid people believe folks in Los Angeles call each other (not unlike the term "The OC"). I was in Hacienda Heights today, going to give an estimate and expecting to see a site full of facemasks. To my delight, no one was wearing one, not even a couple of neighbors across the street. Garcetti will have to call in the national Guard if he wants to enforce such a draconian, illegal and illogical order. |

I assume Angelenos refers only to Hispanics who live within the city limits. So whites and African-Americans don't have to wear a mask, right?
